The roles that are "hated"

Post by fartknocker12345 »

Hello fellow pr players,
I have been playing pr since .4 and have loved it. The game play is awesome which is what it is all about. You guys have done a great job. However, I have seen that anyone playing pr who plays a kit that is not a "frontline soldier", they are looked down upon in the pr community. I'm not talking about the idiots who go off with a spec ops kit and go rambo, they deserve it. I am talking about players who utilize these unique (sniper or spec ops) kits to help the team. One of these being the sniper. The sniper is a EXTREMELY valuable asset the the team as it provides,

1. Relay Info on enemy advancements and locations
2. Guide squads as they move through a city or jungle, given that the sniper has a good view. (how many times has your squad been traveling than taken out by a apc that you didn't know was there?)
3. Take out enemy OFFICERS which have the ability to set up spawn points for the enemy.

Now, seeing this list of benefits, it is surprising for me to find in the pr community that not very many people respect snipers at all. There are also almost NO maps with planes on them :!: . I wish this would change so that the "PR" battlefield will still have tactics and diversity in the roles of the factions

I love project reality and I just want the best for pr in the future. Thank you for reading.

If most snipers actually did all those things you listed, then they wouldnt be loathed so much by other players. However, in my experience, most snipers are 12 year old ritalin addicted kids who grab the kit, and run off on their own to some very pointless area of the map {away from CAP points etc} and see how many kills they can rack up. The sniper kit is one of those assets in PR that hardly ever gets used properly, like how APCs are rarely ever used for actually transporting infantry.

And what are these spec ops kits you keep mentioning? The spec ops kit was removed from PR a long time ago.

And I also agree there needs to be more jets in PR, however only the largets maps support fixed wing aircraft {Kashan, Qinling, etc} And theres not many maps that big.

I despise snipers, actually despise and will instantly kick (even if the guy is in my clan/a friend) if some one takes the kit.

It actually depends. I know of some people who are epic snipers.

I for one usually only use it for recon purposes, and maybe will take only 3 shots per round at most, unless of course i'm forced to do otherwise because of situations. D:

lastly, D: Snipers can be amazing if they don't run around thinking it's CoD

I have nothing against snipers, I have nothing against any kit.

I have alot against bad snipers, I have alot against bad players.

in PR maps have to be 4k for jets to work on them, which is alot of work. However there are plenty of 4ks in development in the community map section, so I think you'll see more Jets. However Iprefer attack helicopters :P

I dont like snipers that are using the kit whitout me

a 3 man squad can do a lot of damage and get some nice intel when stationed in a good and safe place

See I really don't think 'intel' is half as useful in game as it's made out to be. It's very hard to transmit accurate information on enemy forces, and since they move so fast and friendlies can be quite far away all snipers are really good for is relaying FOB positions, which can now be done with the UAV.

Now killing enemies, that is something not to be sniffed at. A 20-0 sniper has removed 20 tickets from the enemy team in exchange for no loss of his own; considering that rounds very rarely end in a cap-out, the sniper has been extremely useful.

If you plan on shooting only 3 times using the sniper kit you have officially wasted it. If you plan and spotting then grab the squad leader kit.

SPOTTERS/RECON DON'T USE SNIPERS!!! use SL kits instead

The sniper sq should have a SL, a sniper and a medic.

Hes wasting 4 (and later 5) other players who all take kits, who are all spread around the map and are all doing sweet f*** all.

I also play pretty much only on servers with mumble and keep a key eye on chat so if the snipers are doing intel, ill know about it. Sometimes when im playing with friends, for the lols i let snipers in the squad and see how long they can last. By time i know it they are miles away with no sight line on the squad let alone enemies and i give em the boot.

I like good snipers, but in the years ive been playing ive only seen a handful if that. For this reason, i hate the sniper role.

So the TOW that a sniper didnt spotted for his team and destroys a tank or a Shinuk full of troops its less important than a 20-0?

I dont say of course that a 20-0 its not usefull, but given some circumstances its less usefull to kill 20 guys to their main, than a single medic at front who can make 25 revives and save for his team 25 tickets or an enemy spotter who leads the enemy CAS.

This just shows how realistic the game is. Snipers are hated by the friends and relly hated by the enemy IRL. Personally I think there are some situations where snipers can be better than the AR, when you are engaging enemies peeking over a ridge at about 400m away.

I hardly ever see them, so I don't give them much thought.

Yeah or how they rarely support infantry or how tanks also don't do that job well either.

Id tell them not to take the kit as i have to use for it, most people will leave it put some take it and leave the squad anyway.

I was using sniper kit with my friend today, he was a spotter and we used excellent tactics and informed teammates about bombcar threats etc.

So you cant really say im a lonewolf noob who knows nothing about tactics.

i always hate the "free" squads, because they never provide teamwork for the team and often waste tickets/kits/vehicals and waste space for team work orintated players ot join the server.
