Question about Graphics.

Post by havoc1482 »

In PR I always had to have my graphics on all Low. I was wondering if PR was more optimized to help with reducing the load so I can up the settings a little. I have not tested this on the v9 release and was wondering if I could do it.

Card (I know, its old):
Nvidia GeForce 7900 GS

Processor:
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600 @ 2.40GHz

RAM:
2GB

OS:
Windows Vista Home Premium (32bit)

the combination of 2gb RAM and vista puts alot of strain on what you can achieve visually with PR.

the video card could be better, but the RAM is your main issue at this moment.

to run PR well with that computer you need to do all the tricks.

disk defrag+cleanup, turn your audio quality down ingame, use the nvidia control panel to optimise your graphics.

try game booster as well,

Game Booster | Fast Game Accelerator | Free Accelerator

.9 is quite resource intensive, give it a go and see how well it works

Ram is relatively cheap, get 2 more gigs and you sohuld be fine.

I got 1048Mb in my Nvidia video card 2Gb RAM, still using low. But it doesn't really matter, because graphic settings don't affect playability.

You really need 4gb of ram. Makes loading so much faster also.

you have a better system than I do, and I run PR on everything high and it runs smooth as silk. The only difference is I use XP instead of vista. My system has:

core2 dup E6400 2.13ghz
Nvidia 7950GT 512mb
2 gigs ram
Win XP home edition

Windows vista must be really dragging you down. And seeing as how vista completely sucks, you should either downgrade to XP or maybe upgrade to 7 {dont know if that would make things better or worse I dont know if 7 is a resource hog}

edit: I must be dyslexic, I thought I read you have a 9700GS as opposed to a 7900GS. But I still think our hardware configurations are more or less the same.

So putting AA up to x2 makes it smoother?
