Black Hawk Types

Post by Infantry1242 »

Maybe you devs could make different types of Black Hawks like the Battle Hawk and/or a Black Hawk without the minigun, both of them aren't hard coded as i've seen the Battle Hawk in Allied Intent and a Black Hawk with out the minigun on Close Quarters Battle (JPN added in that mod)

FYI hardcoded means the engine cannot do it. There's no such thing as hard coded if the idea does not involve any code that's not already in game.

in any case, dont we already have blackhawks without miniguns or am i mistaken?
Information in the hands of a critical thinker is invaluable, information alone is simply dangerous.

Not that i am aware of,because the Black Hawk is from the vanilla BF2.I don't think you can modify vanilla vehicles. But since those guys did, maybe you can.

That's simple modelling, so it ain't hardcoded at all! Just need to change the map layouts (after making the model!).

Now, I don't see how this would be useful... I mean, miniguns are rarely used in my opinion... Why bother taking them of? They may still be useful for suppression!

EDIT: Just realized I posted this after leaving this open for 13 minutes... 6 posts later here I am! XD
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D

Yes,but with all those a$@hats who fire the gun off thinking "Oh well, they enemy can't hear it" well,i would say they are rarely used im my opinion too.But since when was the minigun ever actually effective in suppression as the enemy will get a rocket launcher or a sort of LAV or AA or CAS back-up.

Speed is the key! Also this could be useful in insurgency, specially ramiel (realized that when I did a violent low-level 180 turn trying to avoid a techie while a full squad including an in-squad gunner and Alt+f4ing after doing an stupid crash on ramiel...

well you would hear the sound depression from the rotors before the guns...

There are few different types of S-70 family aircraft:

there is the mentioned AH-60 battle hawk
UH-60 Black Hawk - (Army) utility chopper
SH-60 Seahawk - (Navy) ASW, SAR
HH-60 Pave Hawk - (USAF) SAR, MEDIVAC
MH-60 Knighthawk - (Navy) Utility chopper
HH-60 Jayhawk - coast guard chopper Air sea rescue and interdiction
VH-60 Presidential Hawk
iirc the AH-60 has been superseded by the MH-60L Direct Action Platform (DAP)

but why would we need so many, we don't have a navy in PR we have the marines that use the UH-1 we dont need the Jayhawk as no maps are in America and we dont have the president in PR either

Maps do take place in America, and im pretty sure they are making some more. The one is Silent Eagle, but seriously, you want to get into the faction talk, you could say it's a joint ops for all i care. The Presidential Hawk, really i never said anything about a President man.Really,do you actually think the US puts miniguns on every Black Hawk?

1) Silent Eagle is in Russia?
2) UH-60's are mostly armed with M240's but theres no suitable model yet, so we use the M134's for a place holder.

(searching could have also answered that question.)

HEY! I was just stating the different types of "Hawk" not saying that u want them in... It wasnt a Dig at you... take a pill
and really does Silent eagle take place in the US? Really? The Russians have a perfect Base in the US and the USAF have to settle with a poxy little abandoned airfield i think not

Silent Eagle is Eastern Europe.....

Locking this topic for resuggestion and if you bothered to do a quick search you would find something along the lines that Blackhawks with Rocket pods are not very common and as such would be quite pointless making for PR.

Locked.
