Overall I really like Silent Eagle as a map, it's definitely unique in the current maplist, as in 4km with lots of cover and focal points.
However after playing the inf layer several times now i've noticed a certain imbalance towards the russian team. This is all from my experience in playing both the attacking team (russians) and the ones that get steamrolled (US)
This is what i see happen a lot: If the flags are set up where the 2nd capturable flag for the US is to the east of airfield it is extremely easy and very effective for the russians to rush with 2 BRDMs (the ones that spawn at silo) and stall the US capping whilst the team gets village and then moves up to get clearing/ridgeline and blitz down to airfield.
Of course at times it is the US teams fault for not being co-ordinated but more often then not this isn't the case as the Para drop can really screw them over delaying the capture of airfield and delaying the spawn of the chinooks (which give the great mobility needed to get the next flags). This in turn with the distance between A8 and the flags to the east of airfield mean that between to evenly matched teams the Russians have an advantage.
What i'm suggesting in feedback is something along the lines of what happened to Muttrah, where it doesn't rule out the possibility of a rush tactic but greatly reduces the effect of it.
Maintain the spawn at silo initially for russians, however make them have to cap their next flag (powerplant, silo, hill##) and then have BRDMs spawn after that is capped. This will slow down the initial rush and given even teams focus the combat more around the central village.
This point is all from my experience and my opinion, which some may share, others of course won't. I think that the gameplay of the 16 layer will be greatly improved if something similar happens as what did with muttrah.
It is generally not the case with the 64 layer due to the armour and IFV/APCs.

Agreed. Unfortunately the problem does occur with the other layers, specifically when this happens:

Russians get to the US' second before they do, and have the ability to establish a TOW before the US armor (which spawns at the start) can reach it, should they not be moving onto airfield to cap it. We were going to win this match due to the other team being a bit hurp derp (before server crash), but still it seems a tad unbalanced.
Not to say it isn't an excellent map though. Definitely in my top 5.

Agree with doing what thay did with muttrah as rush tactics are far to easy to do on all layers really. standard layer it is US who do the rushing mind.

Maybe some maps shouldn't have AAS3? AAS2 = yes predicatable, but careful flag placement with such a large area of operations can still work. i.e. Kashan in AASv2.

Silent Eagle is my favorite map though there are some unbalances. Especially if you have to take Vehicle checkpoint and your team can't organize at all . I have still seen more U.S. victory than Russian. Though today played as U.S. we got destroyed.

It is a good map, but with Russia having the armor support straight off and all the transport money could buy, while USA gets... parachutes... the ability for USA to get set proper by capping their main takes a long time, and Russia can cap CV and the next flag by the time USA succeeds in capping the first. Then you have a giant CF of Russians raining HE and funfire into the US main, capping them out, and ending with another sad face from the BluFor.
This process can be further aggravating from the simple fact the parachute spawn can be off at Clearing at the beginning, and circling H8 doing loopty loops and lord knows what else, leaving the infantry without a proper spawn point to get them on the ground and settled into the match to put up a fair fight.
Conclusion: USA has no chance.
My solutions as I see them (may not reflect relevant or possible options)
US Airfield takes WAY too long to cap originally, if possible, either give it to them to start with, or make the first cap maybe 100x faster than it is now. 32 people on that flag and it could still take about 5 minutes to cap.
Make the Russians cap the flag after Silo they as of now start with, so they cant just Central Village - US 2nd cap rush straight off the bat.
Remove all transport for Russians and make them walk the first 5-10 minutes. Walking never hurt anybody. OR, OR, Old Airbase being capped by either team means the initial vehicles for Russia spawn. That would provide somewhat equal transportation.
Throw away the parachute option and make US Airfield spawnable. (Don't do this, DONT DO ITTTTT D

Parachute spawns, while cool, put the para-dropping team at a pretty major disadvantage as it's currently used in the game. On Yamalia the Russians can chopper drop in on the second Canadian flag before the Canucks even cap their first (thereby gaining access to the assets at main) It's not as bad on Silent Eagle, but it's still an issue.
Perhaps if the route of the para spawn was changed so that it went near both the first capable flag and the possible second as well?
