I really think this plane should be in the mod. It should probabaly be loaded with napalm, bombs + rockets. Plus don't forget the 4 20mm cannons. its way cooler than the A7 corsair 2.
P.S. I would of put this in the PR V Sugestions section but I can't because my post count is less than 25.
Of course it was used...That's like asking if M4 Shermans were used in WWII. You shouldn't have to substantiate it. Maybe I misunderstood your statement?
the A1 is actually one of the few planes i would support for PR:V since F4 and F86 actually where rarely used in areas where ground troops operated, thus having them ingame would often be unrealistic, while the A1 really was used for CAS which is the only way to use Planes in a realistic way in PR

Edit:
I just read the F16 is not US Army :\
US Army and US AF work pretty much hand in hand much like the USMC and US Navy. Although in Vietnam a large amount of air support was delivered by aircraft carriers hanging off the coast of Vietnam and they made up a large % of the air support throughout the war.
the reason kashan has the A-10 and the F-16 is because its the air force/navy that provides the air support just like they did then and just like they do now... i'm pretty sure it will be the same in PR:V it will be under the US army but every one knows its the USAF there is no USAF faction either
slightly off topic but on note of the relationship with the army and airforce when the 1st cavalry division started making landing zones with daisy cutters dropped from a skycrane the airforce was not very happy. they complained that it was there job to drop bombs not the army.
the skyraider is my favorite both the old A1-E and the A1-H and was very populer with the grunts when it came to airsupport as they where very accuate becuase they can fly at slow speeds with out stalling.
they could linger for hours and carried a huge weight of bombs compared to there jets. in south vietnam they excelled.
i love them

The Marine Skyraider squadrons had all converted to other aircraft; the last USMC Skyraider deployment was in 1959. Also, the USAF and USN flew different models of aircraft at different times in the war. The first A-1s used by the USAF Air Commando (later Special Operations) Squadrons were 2-seat (side-by-side) A-1E; at the same time the Navy was using the single-seat A-1H and the A-1G night attack variant (two-seat like the A-1E). The USAF would get newer models handed down from the Navy as they converted, culminating in the A-1J, the last model produced.
