And believe me when I say we find the folks who try and sneak back around a permanment ban... there's one guy we're rebanned at least six times... thinking up a new ban message every time becomes a bit of a challenge

Re: What is Project Reality?
This is the best advice in the whole thread. Nice post HangMan.'[R-COM wrote:HangMan;1373720']Hey mate,
Welcome to the PR Forums![]()
PR multiplayer is suited to mature players. I have 2 younger brother who have attempted to play this game and because of their young age they just couldn't grasp it. Also younger players tend to frustrate the older players and get un necessary grief (sometimes minor verbal abuse) for just not being mature, or having little game knowledge or common sense.
PR Singleplayer is very tame, and also a good game. I personally play more SP than MP. I would recommend this for young children (ages 8+ ) if you want a free game to keep them entertained.
If you are looking for good mods to entertain the kids, i would recommend you check out Allied Intent Extended (AIX2), Battlefield Pirates (BFP2), and Forgotten Hope 2 (FH2). These mods all have good SP elements. Another two mods you could check out that i found mildly entertaining are US Intervention (USI), and Desert Conflict. From personal experience i have found that the most popular mod among younger players is AIX2.
AIX2 provides a good arcade type gameplay, that is not offered by project reality. It can be described as the opposite end of the realism scale. Its unrealistic, and just a good run-around shooter.
So overall, for the older child i would try him/her out on Project Reality, see if he/her enjoys it. For the younger child i would set him/her up on AIX2. You can find a download link for AIX2 here: Allied Intent Xtended Website
Hope you find a good mod/s to satisfy both your own gaming needs, and the childrens

The man just came on here and asked a few simple questions. And looking back I don't see one asking for your assessment of his parental skills. Have a little tact people. You need to take into account that not everyone is the same. Different countries, different customs, a different sense of morals and ethics. Even within the US.

Most of us weren't even talking about morales and ethics. He asked what kind of game it is, and we explained that young players probably won't enjoy it alot and will have a harder time getting into the community.

Re: What is Project Reality?
Personally, I'd never let a 5 y/o play any wargames tbh... BF2 is rated 16+ already, PR is more extreme if you ask me. The 12 y/o may enjoy it, but I can understand if he doesn't.
To get a good idea of what PR gameplay is like, visit [R-DEV]dbzao's channel: YouTube - muitocomplicado's Channel, loads of gameplay vids. Not every round of PR is like that of course, many times you just sit and wait, guarding, enjoying the terrific view (on some maps), etc.
But a 5 y/o.... no, really, this is game is just not suitable for him.

*cough* arma 2 *cough*Winstonkalkaros wrote:No game or mod gets as realistic as real life war. PR is the only mod that comes close.
ARMA 2 is a lot more closer to realism, PR is only as close to realistic, using the outdated BF2 engine...
PR has a much better community and rules

Yo should check out videos of PRs gameplay to see if your 12 year old has that sort od dedication to a game like this as its good for player to be mature and teamworking at all times. I started at 12 and even before that age i tried to be a little bit teamworking in other games and i was intresetd in Military so i found it a bit easier than the regualr 12 your old. Also he must have patience as at times there can be serious maount of waiting required
