Go to your ati catalys control center (CCC) and set the 3D as follows.

Standard - tick the Use custom settings box
AA - Tick Use appliaction settings box
AAA - Dont enable
AF - Tick Use application ...
AI - Dont disable
Mipmap - High quality

Those are my settings and it work as it should.

If you still have problems, i dont know.

I'm having the exact same issue. Battlefield 2 is absolutely fine.

Tried reinstalling three times already - last time I ran a full system cleanup before reinstalling; same issue again.

Sometimes the textures spaz out, sorta like being at a strobing night club (haha), and other times the disappear completely; this includes stationary vehicles, grass/foliage, trees, building textures, etc.

This also generally slows the game down to a crawl and often leads to a crash to desktop.

No idea what is going on? I have absolutely no issue with running ANY other game on my pc, including the Battlefield series of games so I'm adamant that it isn't on my side.

It's a laptop - specs are;
Intel Core2Duo P8600 2.4ghz
4GB DDR3 RAM - 3GB used as it is 32bit OS
ATI Radeon Mobility HD3670 512mb
Win. Vista 32bit. Home Prem.

I have Battlefield 2 working flawlessly maxed out at my native res of 1366x768 (without AA) as well as Battlefield 2142 with the same settings.

I really want to play PR!! But this is making it unplayable.. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Btw; this is my first post on the forums - looks like a helpful community, so I'm looking forward to the responses :)

Cheers,
Jord.

Interestingly enough, reinstalling the game does not delete your \Battlefield 2\ folder in my documents, which is where all your settings and cache files are.

Grab BF2 Cleaner and purge the graphics cache. Load back into PR with high textures and let it reoptimize the shaders. You should now have a working version of PR :-) .

I will give BF2 cleaner a try - I have already deleted the cache and let it rebuild/optimize textures again and that didn't help. But you think this is our best bet?

I'm desperately trying to get PR working!! haha.

Ok, BF2 cleaner unfortunately didn't work. Same issue keeps occurring. It's odd because I used to play PR fine on an older pc which was no where near as good for gaming as what my laptop is. Looks like I'm gonna have to uninstall it again :(

Just as a side note; all my drivers and that are up-to-date as well as windows itself. Seems odd that I can't fix this, and unfortunate as PR is a great mod.

What happens when you put every setting on low and re-optimize shaders?

same on me, switching to mid textures solved the problem
it also reduced the CTDs

Intel Core 2 Quad Q9550 @ 2833 MHz
4GB RAM
Radeon HD4870 512MB
vista 32

but have in mind that there are people outside who can look through walls, like we did :)

Sorry guys for make you wainting, But!

Thanks to all that tryied to help me, really.

Well i already tryied to change the resolutution and changed things on Catalyst, and it wasnt the problem.
I think there's something uncompatible, it might be the driver or the W7, dunno.
I'm playing PR even the textures are "half" bug, that's not a problem at all, at least i get good graphics and i can play without lags.
I wish i could put it on max...
Thanks for helpinh me, and i'm really excited for VIETNAM mod :) .
Keep the good work, cheers.
