Supply Marker

Post by alberto_di_gio »

Can we have markers to indicate supply crate places on map like mines? SLs may put them by using radio. I guess it is not very unrealistic plus be very useful for squads.

Just an idea. Please let me know what you think. 8-)

+1 Very usefull when you need some ammo, so you don't need to get you chopper in trouble if you know where the supply crate is.

EXCELLENT, EXCELLENT idea.

Totally support, so simple yet incredibly effective. Would be good to know if there is the possibility that a firebase can be created there.

....or what about a marker automatically appearing when a supply crate is 'spawned' into the game world, which is removed when it asplodes?

I would like to see such markers in a green colour, not red.

Great idea, that will save a lot of pilots work, and crates wont be wasted, beacuse every chopper is limited on 10 right?

he's not asking about requesting ammo mate, he's talking about marking ammo thats been dropped :)

I wonder if the marker can be automatically placed when you drop a crate from a truck/heli.

these markers will serve as good as suggested, while not taking any more slots in commo-rose
typing "marking crate in xxxx" isnt a big problem, request message is there for about 30 secs in clear chat, marker is for about 5(?) minutes

if it can be attached to dropped crates- good then, otherwise- not needed tbh

Actually what I'm suggesting is a permanent marker stills as long as crate is there. Public chat really won't help if I need a new kit or ammo in the middle of the war.

actually this may be the perfect solution. :)

i think they should mark all creat within lets say 50 meters so it does'nt spam when there are more than 1 crat in area.

If there could be a marker that automatically appeared when ammo crates or supply crates were dropped, that also stayed there until they died, would be very useful, and actually very realistic. When ammo dumps are set up in real life, they are marked for friendly forces. They are not known only by who dropped them.

I'm not feeling this idea;it seems like a fix for something that doesn't really need fixing. All you need to find a crate is communication between squads.

If mumble were to be used every time every server all the time locating a crate would be a breeze.

You spawn into a firebase, base is completely empty, everyone else is busy in a firefight somewhere, you look around and see no crates, but there are crates across the street behind a building. Are you supposed to spam chat until someone walks you through exactly how to get to the crates? Or just look at a map and head straight to the supply drop?

Communication between teammates is great in a game like PR, until it gets redundant and tedious. Because then it just doesn't happen.

I have a somewhat related idea, but I didn't want to start a new thread. Is it possible to allow squad leaders to give different move markers to each member? This would be especially useful in transport squads so the leader could tell different choppers to go to different landing zones and they wouldn't get mixed up....

Plus I support the OP's idea.

Is this not a job that the commander "Way point" is for? It's what I use it for when I command. Not including insurgency commander. Way Points markers are informants.
