I think that we should have weapons jamming, but only for like m16s and other american made weapons *hint hint*. It would be as far as I can tell a first and would annoy people no end which is the point of realism, isn't it?
P.S: this might have been mentioned before but I can't be bothered to look through 200+ posts to check, lol.

I would like to see:
- no name tags above soldiers
- no flags icons with the distance
(it's unrealistic, the view should be completely "clear" and all symbols should only be seen on the radar)
- added sth like djukel's Enhanced Effects (http://battlefield2.filefront.com/file/ ... ects;60833)
- that would be a real boost of realism!

IRL, you would know who your teammates are. Seeing as there is no method of ID in this other than the tags (everyone looks the same - either the "heavy" or the "light" and its impossible to tell.) so the tags are required.mauro wrote:I would like to see:

I like the idea of the HUD though - remove everything on the visual 3d hud, and put it on the radar. Nice.

Hm, how about SOS Signal Rockets ? For example, helicompter is flying around, and on the ground are last of allies forces which are defending key point from enemy tank, and they need some help, and someone of them is setting fire on a signal rocket, which is making a large colored line of smoke into air to signal everybody where are problems

at long distances you cant see your own teammates name tags unless you hover your couser above them for some time.mauro wrote:K I've written it a bit unclear, it's because of my poor english
I've meant that the caption that you can see from 500 meters is irritating, maybe, like someone suggested, it could be seen only from short distances...

Maybe not flares, as the Lighting effects would cause lagg like mad, it has been suggested before, but you could use coloured smoke Grenades instead.Hm, how about SOS Signal Rockets ? This has to be one of the least "realistic" features of the BF series and its mods. The big Day- Glo name floating over everyones head. Ive gotten countless frags though smoke , bushes ect. without ever seeing the enemy target. How many concealed shooters are actually spotted in these games? No it was the cheat EA thoughtfully built into the game that gave most of them away.
Due to many good reasons, hardware, software, limitations of a virtual environment, we need something to help us identify friend from foe, and to spot targets, but it should not be the exploit that it is now. The names should be smaller, intententionally skewed relative to the players positionr, and take longer to appear. Did they fix some of the blind spotting problem in BF2? Still there too big, ugly, and they clutter up the screen. If it was totally removed would the game still be playable? Id be curious to try it.

i played Flashpoint ,,, no tags .... FF was very common.
If you remove the tags you have to remove the TK punish feature. The uniforms blend at anything over 100m or so.... so w/o really, really good comm....you are gonna kill your own men ..a lot. I hate the text but is it possible to create a toggle feature like the flag graphics. If you could turn it on and off then maybe ... otherwise ...it's TK city.

Ok, first, a suggestion to fix your FF/Tag debate. The Army uses a Reflective IR squares on their uniforms that can be seen for MILES through NVG's. You could make the same deal, but only visible to YOUR team and ONLY through binos or NVGs. That would force ppl to check their targets. Possible?
OK, my suggestions/wish-list:
I'd love to see costomizable kits to a degree. For example, I play as Spec-Ops mostly, because I like optics on my weapons, but I'm not big on C4. I'd like to be able to drop the C4 and take say extra ammo or increase my level of body armor for a weight penalty, or how about a graple rope like in BF2:SF. (The zip-line is total Hollywood fantasy) A lot can be done for all the kits in this way and would greatly diversify the forces.
While I'm an the subject of optics, US forces do not go into foreign combat zones without the latest and greatest the Army/Marines have to offer. The Marines use the M16A3 and A4 variants and the Army uses the M4 (not M4A1, there's a difference) almost exclusively and both use optics. Most common are the Aimpoint Red-dot, the Eotech holosight, and the ACOG 4x combat scope. Iron sights are good and all, but this mod is supposed to be "near-future", right?
I could get all into bi-pods and attatchments, but this isn't America's Army. I actually like this. AA is ****. Thanks for listening.
If you need another "military technical advisor" let me know. I have the experience.
