I've been trying several things over the last few months trying to achieve a playable PR. This month I've reformatted the PC so no issues there. I've adjusted every in-game setting possible and there is no difference in performance. FPS drops throughout the maps then rises dramatically as well. Some guys in my clan have older computers and operating systems and do not have these problems so maybe it's compatibility issues. I've tried all the .exe compatibility settings too. Is it my system specs causing an issue? I've heard remotely about some memory leak fix for bf2, but have not found it anywhere on the internet.
INTEL Core2Quad 2.33GHZ, Nvidia GTX 260, 4GB DDR RAM, Windows 7 64
AVG FPS with bare minimum settings: 20-30 FPS with max settings 20-30
this means instant freezing upon close combat, and low hit detection across any distance, also I can't use vehicles, esp. Air; and certainly can't play urban maps
Any suggestions?
No luck fixing performance issues

Re: No luck fixing performance issues
All the suggestions for fixes I've found are back for Windows XP or Vista, I tried some BF2.exe fix but the game would not run on the new .exe, only the original. Seems like a Windows 7 64 issue at this point
