Debug assertion Fail

I try to start bf2, black screens and crashes to desktop... this is the error i get...


win 7 64 bit
geforce 9500gt
amd dual core 3.0 ghz
4gb ram
DVI 1920x1080 hd monitor

idk why this happened...switched monitors and had to reinstall EVERYTHING..and i still get this.. HELP?

I think I had your same problem, go to your battlefield 2 folder in your documents
(C:\Users\[username]\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\Default)

Check to see if there is a Video.con file, if not open notepad and paste this in:


VideoSettings.setTerrainQuality 3
VideoSettings.setGeometryQuality 3
VideoSettings.setLightingQuality 2
VideoSettings.setDynamicLightingQuality 3
VideoSettings.setDynamicShadowsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setEffectsQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureQuality 3
VideoSettings.setTextureFilteringQuality 3
VideoSettings.setResolution 1024x768@85Hz
VideoSettings.setAntialiasing Off
VideoSettings.setViewDistanceScale 1
VideoSettings.setVideoOptionScheme 2

then save as Video.con
