Transparent/translucent ground !?

Post by lapointe3 »

Hi everybody !

If i am here right now, it's because i have a big problem with PR ( BF2) for months.
I explain :
Sometimes (2 times out of 3), grounds are translucent ! i can walk on it, but i can't see it. So i can't play and i have to restart by games 4-5 times !
I looked on the forum but i did not see any solution for this problem.

(I am on win 7 64bits)

I hope you will help me !

Good evening

hi mate, bienvenue to the forums.

I've seen this bug happen in 2 instances 1) your computer doesn't like the resolutino you're playing at, and 2) you haven't patched BF2 correctly.

so try changing resolutions, if that doesnt work Redownload the BF2 1.41 and 1.5 patches, then reinstall BF2, patch it then install PR

Hi !

Thanks for your answer, but i formated my pc 2 weeks ago and i still have the problem...
My resolution is 1920*1080 on a 24" screen, do you think it could be the problem ?

Edit: as i think about it, i have the problem since i changed my screen monitor from 19" to 24"wide, i will change my resoltuion and say if my problem is resolved.

I still have the problem. But i notice that when grounds are translucent, my antialiasing seems to be on OFF.

I had the same exact issue. I had just done a clean install, and had one good game wihtout texture issues. I fixed it by turning the terrain settings down to medium. I'm not sure if that was the fix, or if forcing the system to re-optimize was the trick.

DONT LISTEN TO ANYONE BESIDES ME!!!!!!

Sounds like you have a multi-monitor setup. If you do, try setting it so its one monitor before you play PR.

Since you have WIN 7, just right click desktop, screen res, multiple displays, show desktop only on 1/2

When its only down to one display, you can run the video settings to however you please.

If you still have trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Still no joy?

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
