Change Galil ironsights
When 0.9 came out, one of the weapons I looked forward to using was the Galil. I was disappointed by its sights however, and immediately when I saw them, I dropped the kit thinking that I'd never use Galil again. The reason is that the I knew that the sights would simply be awful in real combat, because the iron ring at the rear covers too much of the sight.
My suspicions were confirmed when I tried to use the weapon recently after picking up a Hamas sl kit. I could not shoot down an IDF soldier who was moving slowly on the open, about 20-30 meters in front of me. I could have easily shot down that enemy with an m16 or an AK 74.
As a result, galil is next to useless except in face to face combat or in some long distance shootouts. And the reality is that a lot of firefights occur in mid ranges and the targets are often on the move. With the awful sights that Galil has you can't trace these moving targets properly, and to me it seems like a waste of perfectly fine 3d art to reduce Galil to a completely useless weapon in-game because of these sights.
So I suggest that the galil sights be changed to a more open version. Is it possible to have a model where the peep sight (or whatever the iron ring is) is pressed down?

Yeah, I'd like it too, but I can't trust it in a fight because of the sights.I like the galil..

The thing is it's my weapon of choice where i can do long range with iron sights. One of the few i find i can do this. So if it's a player issue and not a realism issue then can't be changed. Also is there any sources to say these are the wrong sights? That there are any others available.

I dont. Agree about everything with OP, but its pretty much the same IRL, maybe ingame the ring is too close to the "eye" or something.. AK sights > ALL (Atleast in PR).rampo93(FIN) wrote:I like the galil..

Just increase the rear ring size to simulate aperture in the eye. Problem solved.

i agree with OP, i as well was looking forwards to using it and now despise it for the sight reason, red dot sight for hamas SL could be an option as they are better equipped than insurgents and taliban if im not mistaken
however i would like to say i love the sound it makes when fired

Hardly an expensive piece of kit, nor is it particularly uncommon in this day and age.Bellator wrote:I really doubt that the Hamas regularly wields such tech.

The galil is a weapon I'm fond of but I've had limited experience in game.
I got a few kills with it though and it was good but I do understand that it might be a little tricky

Source on this cheap red dot sight?BlackwaterSaxon wrote:Hardly an expensive piece of kit, nor is it particularly uncommon in this day and age.
I can't find many cheap ones (that aren't knockoffs), or that HAMAS as a paramilitary organization actually uses them. I think yes, they are uncommon in this day and age for unconventional forces.

i don't think they would full into the hands of terrorists, though i would not be surprised if they are taken out of rotation and put in surplus.
and from there things have been known to go missing.

Wal-mart and other sporting stores sells ncstar Red dot sights for 40 bucks. Knock off would work just as well as a real one, just that you get what you pay for and they would probably be less reliable than Mil-Specdtacs wrote:Source on this cheap red dot sight?

Yeah I hear those Walmarts in the Gaza Strip are a real success story.Teek wrote:Wal-mart and other sporting stores sells ncstar Red dot sights for 40 bucks. Knock off would work just as well as a real one, just that you get what you pay for and they would probably be less reliable than Mil-Spec
Adding to this, there isn't any proof (that has been posted yet) that Izz ad-Din al-Qassam use optics on their grunts' rifles.
