Teamwork
One thing i've noticed in most military games is a major lack of teamwork, the only game i've seen really any type of remote work is America's Army. In America's Army you will see people covering each other, guys lining up in a stack like SWAT before opening a door, basically guys covering each other and working as a team. I'm guessing this i because of the very limited amount of shots you can take before dying. So they rely on each other for protection. All in all, i hope this Project Reality promotes the need for teamwork in Battlefield 2 in the same way America's Army does but BETTER... Because when it comes down to it, wheres the fun in buying a military game if your not going to play it like the real thing, if you wanna run & gun, go get yourself the latest copy of 007, but for Battlefield 2 Project Reality, i wanna see teamwork.

I disagree with you solodude, arcade doesn't always mean the opposite of teamwork, and realism doesn't always mean teamwork. It all depends on the server, and how the levels are set up. On Lost Village CTF, the team with the most teamwork wins because the level is set up so a rambo can't get close to the flag.
On Pipeline, however, Noone wants to be first through the door because of excessive nade spamming. And nobody wants to cover fire from behind because of friendly fire.
I hope that Project Reality can maintain their high level of realism, but at the same time encourage teamwork. This will mean creating maps that you need teamwork to win, and more teamwork oriented equipment, such as door breachers.

i agree with you, but we all have to remember that its not the game that makes the team work its the players and a pub(reg server) alot of people dont know what there doing or just wanna get kills(not win) . Though in Call of duty i got like half my pub team to attack one side and it was like 32 in the server so it was like a whole team rushing one side and covering fireing and rushing up more cover fire, it felt like i was in the battle of ww2 and we also kick there ***! so the game has about 2% to 10% to add to game play but mostly the players have to be wanting to work together and know that succses comes in teamplay.nerdmonkey wrote:I disagree with you solodude, arcade doesn't always mean the opposite of teamwork, and realism doesn't always mean teamwork. Yep, but with project reality making it realistic to the point where the number of shots needed to kill someone is very low, that should help eliminate rambos because by running around, your gonna get seen and shot relativly fast. So thats why it's up to us to promote teamwork in this Mod. I know in games like SOCOM for PS2, whenever me and another guy(s) get some teamwork going, we own the other team, and when done correctly, a two or three man team can take out a team twice there size or bigger.

Let's face it: getting teamwork done is going to be next to impossible on a pub server, even in a reality-based mod. The only way you'll be able to accomplish some measure of group participation is if there are people on the server that know you and you know them. It might be possible if the "voice over ip" thing works, but so far I just have nightmares of people cursing each other out. It's bad now with the "K" and "L" texting, I can't imagine what it's going to be like with VoIP. *shudder*
The only way for teamwork is to join a clan or a tournament. There, everyone has an assigned position and they do their jobs: air force flies, tankers tank, navy sails, and infantry pounds the ground. I'm in a tournament and when I go back to pub play, it just makes me want to cry.

yea well god willing if ea puts a muting system so we can mute the screamers and yellers on the voice thingy. But for a team play goes i think the majority of people would like to have some team play even not in a clan and not in a tourny if u can hear the persons voice its a sence of not letting that person down or somthing along those lines. also you have the option to join or make a squad so there for if some poeple do not want to join a squad there londers but those who want to be a team player will join squads.
