Hi,
at first my system config:
CPU: Intel E8200
MB: Gigabyte P35 DS4
RAM: 2x2GB OCZ 1066Mhz
Graphics: MSI HD 5850 Twin Frozr II old: 8800GT
after changing my graphics card to the new ATI one i get freezes in PR from time to time. Sometimes the freeze is over after some seconds, so i can go on playing and sometimes it freezes my computer, so i have to reset. Also i had today some artefacts which you will see on the attached pics.
I think it's no driver/installation error because i deinstalled previous nvidia drivers and cleared the rest of the drivers with driver sweeper. Installed is the newest Catalyst driver from ATI.
So has anyone already had problems like this and knows how to solve them? Is it maybe only a configuration thing of the drivers like AA/AF or graphics configuration of PR? Btw: I have all settings on Very High in PR.
Or do you think the graphics card is defect an I should contact the MSI support?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Greets,
Ice

In game textures set to 'HIGH'
Set the textures to medium.
I'm not sure why this makes a difference with high-end cards that can run games like Crysis on high quality settings with no problem at the same res,
but for some reason it can matter running Project Reality With Vista.

Hi,
thx for your advice, but it didn't help...
was now testing it and after 5 mins on Jabal the screen turned into brown stripes(see picture) and the pc freezed again completely.
I think the problem is the graphics card itself and I have to turn it in, so I will contact MSI. :/

Have you installed the latest patch from ATI?

Yeah that does point towards a faulty card. If it is still within warranty you can just contact the retailer that you got it from (or at least in Australia you can)
