Hey all,
I have an old gaming rig from 2004 and have been playing pr from the earlier versions and now, with all the huge maps, I can just barely even play. I get a solid 15 fps on beruit or muttrah. Its really bad. I can play bf2 just fine but pr is horrible!!
p4 processor 2.8 ghz SINGLE core
1 gb ram
nvidia 6800 256mb
Is there anything I can do to boost fps, like settings or anything??
Thanks
Low fps!!!

I found your problem.fartknocker12345 wrote:I have an old gaming rig from 2004
No, in all seriousness, there probably isn't much you can do except to play at the lowest possible settings and resolution. You can try GameBooster to close unnecessary background programs and defragging your hard drive which might help.
But really, time to start thinking about hardware upgrades. It's 2010!
If it's in your budget right now, $300-400 goes a long way.

Desmolocke is right, BF2 hasn't changed since its release in 2004. PR has gone through at least 15 iterations since its 2005 inception.
Honestly if gaming is one of your primary pastimes, I would recommend allocating about 300-500 per year on upgrades, which will allow you to always play games at roughly the same settings as time progresses.
On a rough estimate (assuming you live in America), you can get an AMD quad, 4gb of ram, HD5770 and other components for roughly $700 [which includes case, psu, hard drive and maybe win7]
