Uhum, perhaps you could try on Coop, which probably won't be too heavy on the internet, mostly on your PC, since you will be handling bots for the most part.tiger777 wrote:Thanks to Hans Martin Slayer I've received the answer for SP Co-op Artillery / Area Attack

(SP Co-op) Just to clarify BF 1.5 patch has disabled the bot commander from issuing artillery in SP Co-op mode even if I am squad leader?
Correct.

If so, when will this be fixed?
Maybe if you send dice a nice mail?

Second can I use artillery in SP Co-op if I command the bot team?
Unfortunately, you can't use artillery in 'pure sp' anymore, you need one human player to spot, one human player to be commander.
It sucks that the simplest things get screwed with a new 'patch', but that's beyond our control.

you might also want to update the rifleman specialist part because you say they have trip flares ans breaching slugs which isn't tru anymore.goguapsy wrote:Updated.

Running tactics that, overall, are completely useless.goondulf wrote:It's a shame that whole teams don't follow this code of conduct, it'd make for some insane firefights with everyone running tactics.
In PR, warfare is incorrectly represented. There is no adrenaline rush nor fear of getting shot. I will often run out into the open with little care for whats going to happen to me, simply because if I die I can respawn.
A single SAW can take out an entire squad by walking around the corner and spraying without zooming in, while moving. With that in mind, think about if the troops were in an open file formation. Would it have made a difference? No. Formations are absolutely useless because PR is a completely random environment where the stupidest things can happen, and shit-random gameplay and tactics are rewarded. As a squad leader, I never use formations other than an extended file to look for a possible cache in the valley on Lashkar. Formations are a waste of time, are close to impossible to keep coherent in an artificial environment.
Some SLs may think they are being smart and functional when using formations, but in reality they are wasting their squads time which overall is detrimental to the objective.

Yeah as I re-read through my guide I noticed that the formations part sounded a little stupid
But yeah you are exaggerating in some bits
I believe the best formations on open terrain, though, are a line (enables everyone to engage a target from a different point of view) or staggered column on streets (3 on each side, enables mutual cover from rooftops and vehicles, common in insurgency.
Opps didn't notice that. Fixed, ty.XxxGrANdmA wrote:you might also want to update the rifleman specialist part because you say they have trip flares ans breaching slugs which isn't tru anymore.

I do agree with the open part, should you ever be running in the open for one reason or another.

Re: How to be a PR Squad Member. A guide.
I agree with most formations being useless in a public infantry squad, where players have not trained together and are not on a similar knowledge level.
The only formations I use here, and I only do it very seldom with most pubbers, is the single file or column, for travelling fast and for good flank coverage, double column (built up areas, streets, roads), and the skirmish line, for moving in the open or towards a known contact in front.
However, I find certain other simple formations very useful when I'm playing with clan mates or friends who I've trained together with extensively. I can rely on them not to stray off, stay in formation without thinking about it too much, cover their sector, etc. In my opinion, this makes movement much safer, but obviously a lot slower.
Basically, you have to know when to use which formation in regard to the tactical situation.
You can say I'm stupid, that it doesn't work in PR, it's all bullshit, whatever. It works for me, and helps my squad stay alive.
EDIT: Also, I completely forgot when writing this post: Awesome job Guapsy, I might've said it before, but its a really good guide.

Re: How to be a PR Squad Member. A guide.
I believe most people would say that the AR should be ready to engage all the time, and deploy your gun where you would set your bipod on. Ex. Please, do not deploy when standing in the middle of the street because the recoil is lower and that's an exploit. Go prone and then deploy.Winstonkalkaros wrote:This will help me to help others, thanks.

Remember that, when deploying your gun, you'll have full deviation so you must wait for some 6 seconds to fire accurately. Always go behind cover (so you can stand to shoot and crouch for cover) and only deploy when defending or if you'll remain stationary for a while.

What new players normally forget in my experience is actually firing their weapons. You have seven magazines of ammunition for your assault rifle, use them. Superiour firepower wins firefights.
Great guide by the way.

Re: How to be a PR Squad Member. A guide.
I will probably update this, specially concerning the Mortar support. But that's gonna be after I play some .95, no need for some "OMG" level here
