Nice find. When looking around areas of conflict in Vietnam on Google Earth (maps), especially around hamburger hill etc... you can still see what appear to be battle scars on the ground.Chariot wrote:Maps of South East Asia - Vietnam, Laos, Thailand and Cambodia 1965 - 1975

Battle of Hill 881, Quang Tri, Vietnam - Google Maps
I'll find a better example when I get home.

definatly looks like old craters mind you you dont have to far too see evidence of the blitz in london if you know where to look. my late grandad could point out a round area in a park i cant rember where, but the grass was a slightly differrent colour and is where they filled in the crater and planted grass after the blitz.
good post i have used this site myself a few times before. its a great true reference. if you go into detail of the maps and look at some areas you can see how many villages are listed as abandoned. which means the americans moved the villagers from their antient homes to camps for there "protection" and burnt the place down and declared the area a free fire zone.
