Battlefield 2 crashes uppon joining a server

Also, after I done this, I got normal BF2 to work, and Sandbox Mod, but I can not get PR to work yet, because PR crashes to desktop. But I'm going to try turning down my textures.

It crashes at 3% when its loading a map when its loading objects.

And turning down my textures didnt work.

Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache

Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.

If you still having trouble run battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files

Still no joy?

Some other things you can try before you uninstall/reinstall.
Backup your BF2 folder that's inside your documents folder. Once you have a backup delete the original from your documents folder.
Try starting PR from your PR shortcut
a new default folder is created
link to your online account.
If all goes well (CTD gone) all you have to do to get your custom settings back is copy your 'control' file from your backup to the new profile folder.
path:
C:\Users\your user name here\Documents\Battlefield 2\Profiles\0002
note: you may not have a 0002 folder so use 0001

Yeah so none of that worked, I tried reinstalling everything, and now its worse, before I could play BF2 and sandbox, but not PR, now nothing will start up because theres something wrong with my BF2.exe file.

Alright thanks for the suggestions guys still isn't fixed but have yet to try some of those new ones...

i have had the same problem but i seamed to have worked around it and i think it is either server or internet related seeing as all of you are able to play single player for instance try a random server with a map that you know is a 2km one (i believe that's the smallest map size) that worked and i was able to play also try turning off windows update for a bit and your firewall too. though you probably already have. turning down the graphics might help with your ping or signal strength either that or get a better internet lol it work for me to a point but one server that's playing one of the new maps is doing it to me (the 4km map with the Russian's and the Germans fighting on this massive sloping green hill map with lots of trees maybe one of the new maps has a bad file or something but the thing is i was playing it before weird lol anyway i hope this helps

I really hate posts like this. You asked for help for 2 pages . Then you say you fixed everything . But you couldn't be a*sed telling us how you did that ? Really dude ?
