Nice pics! Hope you didn't break some stuff during the recording sessions. I think I can see some cables under the AS90 tracks

Whoever linked this:

British vehicle sounds - Battlefront Forum
Just a heads up,

If any of you who compile/make sound effects for CMSF want some good quality and most importantly, varied and authentic sounds then have a look here at the Project Reality team:

Project Reality forum topic

Project Reality blog of the week's recording

They're recording British vehicles firing/driving/being hit at Bovington Armour Centre in England.

Of course, don't just 'use' sounds without their permission as it's their time, money and effort going in to making these but maybe if you ask nicely.

As I said just a heads up

Please bear in mind these are going to be a professional Library of UK MOD Sound Files, and will be copyrighted under realitystudios.com (A Project Reality Company), to use for commercial purposes, and future business deals we have in the pipeline.

They are not simply for Mods / community add ons to simply use .... lol ;-)

They will of course feature in our brand - PR for you guys.

At 5:45 in that video. Are you recording sounds for the civi rocks against the vehicles? Genius!

Silly_Savage wrote:You lot should do some British voice recording while you're there.

Yeah meant to .... (wanted one particularly good scottish voice roasting a squad), but just wasn't time ... was all so hectic. Plus we didn't really have the space to do it in (background noises being drowned out by an 1800 hp Trojan engine is one thing ... voice is another)
[R-DEV]Rhino wrote:They let you throw rocks at there poor tank? I would have thought they would have got out and smacked you in the face
You should see what the trainees do to the vehicles .... throwing rocks at them is the least of their worries. (besides anyone who throws rocks at a CR2 has simply got the laws of physics wrong .... unless that rock is 40 meters across)
Akatabrask wrote:Is there any chance of getting to know what audio recording equipment etc. you're using?
I will look into posting up the session plan and a session debrief (after I have filled in 50 forms for the necessary clearance). I have to get it done while things are fresh in our minds really as the memories fade fast .... my poor tattered memory was already fading by the mid week, so I will have to rely on Jaymz's incisive intellect.
Claymore wrote:I think I can see some cables under the AS90 tracks
Mark Lacey stuck some track bolts under there to see what would happen. You would need a jackhammer to get them out of the tarmac after. (apparently getting a guy to try and get them out with a screwdriver is a favourite "bad boy task" that gets handed out ... while the engineers all stand round sniggering.)

And on a final note .... all I can say is , THANK GOD to be getting back to large coffee mugs. I have no idea how the British Army expect their soldiers to function on the tiny amounts of caffeine they give them in the mornings !! (on my second half pint of coffee for the morning already)
