is digging when u are standing faster or it's just the same speed when u prone?
i worry because i think in real life no one digging crouching :) and i'm going to suggest in suggestion section to remove digging ability when prone or crouching. as a result we should experience more safely placed fobs... we got no limiter for fob "no nmys in 100m" as we got for rally, so fobs are placed just anywhere close to nmy. in my opinion it will be more realistic when u can't dig under fire
if it was discussed on other topic, please provide a link for me, i didn't find one..

I agree to an extent, the the deployable's purposes Prone digging should not be possible, nor should prone CPR either.

its the hands thing what medics do to help revive :) weapon slot 2.

Never thought of it since it didn't seem that important, but yes now that you mention it, digging while prone does seem a BIT weird. It could be coded in I'm sure, in the same manner as the HAT when prone.

But I don't think there is a difference at all between prone, standing and crouching.

ok here's the situation, we got machinegunner in 150 meters of FOB that have been broken. he got clear sight of it, and a man behind the fob. in real life u cant build something being under fire, but its not a problem here, just don't stand up, u'll build up all the toys, and reinforcements can spawn on fob...
i think there's 1 tactical turn (not killing nmy): deploy smoke and build up everything fast... or if fob builder is stupid enough to build in open with enemies around, he deserves death

well, the shovels are actually pretty small, i think it makes sense to crouch with it, though prone would be a little difficult to dig.... :P
i think we should also be able to attack with shovels, what if your digging and some guy pops out and trys to knife you, what do you do? smack him with yer shovel!
i was also wondering: is this thing different online vs co op? cause in co op i was building things without anyone needing to shovel it

Yep. In coop you don't need any crates, and everything deploys fully build, and I think if demolished it disappears completely. In normal online, you need 1 crate for a FOB, 2 crates for anything else, and it must be shoveled.

whatshisname55, melee combat is very poor in pr, but personally i don't need to improve to matrix:thegame level :) using shovels as main melee weapon is looking weird for many factions, who uses bayonets... if u still want improvements, i'd say it would be interesting if we got 2 melee weapons (both bayonet and shovel) on middle mouse button binded

the "entrenching tool" is IRL very small, approx 14 inches long, and would be very hard to use standing up.

and just as a point of interest to those saying you would not build under fire.... sometimes one does build under fire, with friendlies suppressing enemies

Sorry but if i was getting shot at in real life, and my commanding officer was telling us to "DIG IN!" I would figure out some way to dig while prone. The shovel is small, it shouldn't be that difficult.

And in terms of gameplay, 1 saw gunner sitting 200m out shouldn't have a god like effect on a whole squad who's trying to deploy assets. Suppress the builders with your LMG and get your squad mates to move in and clean them out. Teamwork gets em every time.

Yeah I think that digging while prone is quite weird now, you can prevent fire by doing that... You can always hide behind the sandbag when crouched!

And yeah, CPR is also weird :P



P.S. I think it's hardcoded for a repair item to do damage? (different from Epipen)?

Idk can anyone clarify, because it would be realy handy if you had a melee as secondary for the shovel, its not the first time i had an enemy coming around the corner while digging something up and irl you would use your shovel like that as selfdefence, not? ;)

We're forgetting that Firebases as they are are just SIMULATING positions being taken by forces, or "safe" reinforcement/supply points.. they aren't giant piles of things that are shoveled by some guy repeatedly in the same spot for 3 minutes.
