Patch 1.5 wont start.

I reformatted awhile ago to win 7. While reinstalling BF2 to play PR again i installed 1.41 patch fine and when i clicked 1.5 it doesn't even open, the process opens for about half a second and closes with no error.

I have ran as administrator followed

BF2 needs to be updated to v 1.41 before patching with v1.5
FULL update 1.41
Final v1.5
Some have posted Updating with the

Sometimes does not complete, but looks like it does.
To find your version of BF2
run PR in 'windowed' mode
Look at the upper left corner
you should see
v.1.5.3153-802.0

and i have also tried "disable desktop composition" and make it run as XP SP2 and admin in compatibility and no change.

I am running

8400GS, soon to be a 460GTX
AMD X2 athlon dual core
6 gigs of ram

It ran before when i was vista with these specs. I would appreciate any help!

the file mightve gotten corrup? i would try dling it again from a different place.

I had the same problem. In the end I reinstalled vanilla from the DVD then overlayed the entire BF2 folder from my old system. Works if you still have these files.

I have tried the files from file planet and file front both do the same thing. I don't have the files left over so i can't just overlay them

Wow.... ok by putting a (3) at the end of the file name made it work.... I dunno how i dunno why.... this is just weird.
