well there ya go big list heh ;)
i hardley see any tranport chopper besides blackhawk and little bird :P so you can see why different transport choppers might help a little :)
if you were going to add unmanned then "wahoo" :D
but if not i was hoping if ya could somehow make them work like a guided bomb, but invisible to radar, very weak, not the fastest of things but powerful as a anti-tank :)
i no this might be alot of work, but heck you guys going for realism so lets add the realistic modern equipment ;)
O and by the way, if you would like some info on them i will be happy to give you the links on the choppers/jets you wish to have info about.

alot of the fighters you listed are already in well some as for most of that list i think you need to seriously lower you expectations the AWACS type aircraft is a nifty idea but the maps simply arent big enough as for the C-5 galaxy again maps arent big enough for you to fly the thing around much not to mention the fact theres nowhere to run from a fighter if anything you might see a c-130 like in DC or an AC-130 thats all id ask for

well thats true and all they are giants
but there are also bigger maps in BF2 compared to BFvietnam and BF42, making bigger maps was one of the reasons why netcode had some problems.
but hopefully if you guys do end up making a huge map like gazala or amen, then there we go all the transports and stuff could be added.
if your going for realism i really doubt that in this time(century) they would be using spitfire's :p
alot of things are being replaced in 2000+ there chucking quite alot of the classics for some of these newer vehicles.
for instance the Amraams, very well known for there range are looking to be replaced with the Emraams, because of there better range, accuracy, power.
i no your right if they dont extend the maps for these giants then maybe you BF2R could make some big maps, im sure that wont be a problem since BF2 is really got some good resources for modders :)
there are also quite alot of tanks that are being replaced and turned into something new, if you would like a list on them i could also give..

You missed 2 key russian bombers:
Tu-95- many many version (turboprop B-52 type bomber) with a lot of capabilities suchg as extremely long range maritime patrol or of course could old cruise missiles carrier.

Tu-22M3-Medium range-(more realistic for BF2 mod) similar aircraft, aren't really any, could be compared to F-111 or Su-34 ma7ybe even a B1b but smaller. could be good.

one thing i was thinking don't know if any of your are a airpower geek like myself. But PR me thinks could make the hole new age of digital airbourne precision guided fire support from above. anyone read the books by dale brown (ex-airforce) such as plan of attack. good high tech stuff that talks of modified B1s and B52s that are just huge UCAV and PGB carriers. with stupidly high tech ground forces calling in JDAM and GBu support from above.(also had stealhawk ucavs that fired minimavericks and clusterbombs.)
Well then i read articles of B-52s and B1s carrying JDAMS and GBU-12/24 etc and having special forces or good old grunts ont he floor guiding airstrikes within minutes in afghanistan and iraq. i jsut read the first instance of a B1 carrying out extremely close air support to some marines somewhere in afghanistan on a compound with like 6 insurgents and 6million in cocaine. i think a good mod could get this implemented without being too overpowered. maybe PR could make the idea of air support a balanced reality. maybe in commanders mode, or teh spec ops get a spot or two of a target. then auto pgms are dropped and hit within a time limit and quite close to the area, not like hitting a sniper on a hill but like if a tank stays still for a minute or a AA vehicle camps etc an airstrike can take it out.

sorry/excuse me jsut wondering what you guys would think on any similar to this style of gameplay for this game.
sorry if this annoys anyone im just a bit of a high tech airpower freak (Damm all those fighter games USAF N LOMAC!!!)

hey force wats up iv been eyeing these forums for a while only posted a few times tho until lately

back on topic the thing you guys might fail to realise is that these aircraft if you were to shoe-horn them into a BF map would alos ad a significant amount of lag that isnt really necessary i think when it comes to the big transports an AC-130 or C-130 is all you need, while iv often thought an AWACS would be cool, but if it were to be done id recommend one of the smaller Naval ones that can fit on a carrier but i must say that an AWACS should only be added if it has ONLY Air to Air radar in the two previous BF's radar in planes could see tanks as well as Inf on the ground this is annoying and unrealistic a MiG or AWACS should not be able to find a sniper on the ground if they can code it to just find aircraft on radar then id be for it.

- Offtopic..
may i ask what your role is going to be in bf2 ?
tank ?
assault ?
pilot ?
everyone will say all, but there will be one everyone likes because its classic and they pwn at it, so whats yours ?
-Back On Topic
well the netcode is going to be improved, and if it is then it can do what vietnam and bf1942 can, have a stable server with 5 jets on each team.
so then bf2 will improve the amount of jets being able to be in the air at once, perhaps by 7,8 maybe 9 :)

For some reason Ive allways enjoyed being support. I find it more of a thrilling experience being in the background making things work. I do feel that the support mode in DC was under rated....

we need a pilot to give his views, other role's will obviously back up there role as they feel it is good, but we need another pilot to give their views aswell

RAH-66 Comanche!

Post by Wolfguard »

It could be really nice to see a RAH-66 Comanche combat helicopter in the game. Even though the first models won't be in duty before 2010, I still think it should be in the game, also because Battlefield 2 is already some years ahead in the future.

Look at this baby: http://www.globalsecurity.org/military/ ... 6-pics.htm

The Commanche turned out to be a flying complication and was thusly nixed, as BB said above.

well for some pilots, there was alot of people who could handle it, but there was also others that couldnt, i guess the army wants it to be used by all kinds of Helo Pilots.

Usually used as a scouting role not wtfbbqsauce missiles phew phew!

I don't think it should be implemented :/

To many people would charge at tanks and die and it would be really unrealistic.
Unless we could rip off the missiles and just have the .50 ?

Theres really no need for strategic bombers for PR to be honest and there are some helo's that really need to be added such as the OH58 Kiowa Warrior for the US Army and the Lynx for the Brits.

***And most US Army special forces utilize the AH6/G and AH6/F versions that include rockets, FLIR units, and miniguns***
