Remove bushes and trees for US main on Silent Eagle

Post by Dev1200 »

In real life, would they land jets and choppers in the middle of a field with trees and solid bushes in the way? I don't see why the map has this there. I've see good pilots hitting trees and solid bushes more then anything.

it's in russia, and they parachute in and captures and old abandoned airfield. yeah they'd obviously cut down the overgrowth first but since the game can't do dynamic environment, i'd rather have the "captured abandoned airfield feeling" rather than a completely shiny one.

The US forces don't have tractor technology to remove those trees.

At least clear the trees so that they're off the runway.

Would undergrowth grow fast enough to make tall trees in the concrete when it was created? Don't they kill/uproot the trees around the runway while they made it in the past?

or, remove the trees and have non-solid bushes. This will keep the feeling of a "abandoned" airbase.

I'm almost 100% sure this is a re-suggestion.

No doubt its being looked at.

So you say while abandoning the airfield Russians planted trees in middle of runway. Cause I don't see any other way a tree grows so fast in a well cleared ground. :-D

The Russians didn't abandon it, it was made with the intent that it had already been abandoned for a long time. They are large bushes and pine trees., And the latter take awhile to grow as tall as they are.

Fair enough have some bushes and whatnot to simulate the airfield being out of commission for awhile, but having trees in the center of the airfield is stupid. The USAF would never operate an airfield in such conditions.

I have to agree.

I could understand getting helicopters in, but really doubt they'd risk flying in jets.

After all, their US made jets, not Russian made jets

replace the JET's on this map with attack heli's insted they would fit the map better imo.
EDIT: the reson for doing that would be it allows for the runway to stay the same as well as having the teams qual in terms or aircraft maybe give the russians:
- one attack heli
- one scout heli
- and one or two AAV
Give the US:
- 1 or 2 apache
or
- 1 apache
- kiwoa (or however its spelt)
and possibly a TOW humvee to help combat those tanks with ATGM's on them

You guys are forgetting that the map is going to the Germans, and we all know that they're treehuggers.

It doesnt actually make any sense that they would get jets there so fast, but its a game, but i agree on this suggestion, just remove trees and place non-solid bushes.
