In PR, squads cannot communicate with each other (mumble aside...and even with mumble, you can't communicate over long distances if your not a SL).
Solution: Do what the Army does when long range communications are down. Use a damn flare gun.
Would actually make a scout useful as well.
Please, judge and expand upon
Different flare colors for different situations?

Re: Flare Gun
1. There is really no need for a flare-gun, seeing as there are no night maps and during daylight maps, they would be hard to see.
2. Each color would take up 1 weapon slot, just like how green smoke takes up 1 slot and purple smoke takes up another.
I don't really see a point in this seeing as you could just type in team chat to the people who's attention you're trying to get.

Re: Flare Gun
use the squad leader radio
that is all.
actual flares would only be useful for flare traps. Militia might use this to an extent.

Re: Flare Gun
Though flares are used in the modern military, they aren't the primary means of communications. And flare guns aren't used. Flares are shot out of M203s and hand held stick flares.
Plus this is a ressuggestion.
