Logistical Truck 2ND seat Mounted S.A.W/Mg
Suggestion
Add a mounted SAW or MG to the 2nd seat of the LOGI truck. It would Portrude through the roof of the 2nd seat on the right side of the truck. With a 70-75 degree angle covering the left/front/right sides of the truck.
Many times i have been driving down the road on karbala to have a PKM open up on me from the middle of the road. It would be awsome if the 2nd Seat could have some sort of way to shoot back.
As it is now there is no defense for the logi truck and 9 times out of 10 will result in the driver trying to run down one insurgent after the other, in hopes of killing them and stopping the incoming fire on his/her truck.
It would also help in the early stages in building a FOB, before the MGs/TOWs are built it could add another source of security, without depending on a half built MG to fend off insurgent technicals.

However, the fact it would have a weapon would mean the vehicle could be utilised in a way it isn't mean to be

I'd say no, trucks, afaik, are not normally armed with MGs.
Also, the trucks don't have guns to encourage convoys (other words, trucks have no guns to encourage epicness).
Remember, in PR...
Epicness > Gameplay > Realism
This is Project Epic, not Project Gameplay or Project Reality.

If its possible, maybe give it a mounted M16 or standard rifle of that faction to simulate shooting out of the window.

I think you can do that by not "blocking" the car (ie. if you sit on the back seat of a transport HMMVV you can fire your guns, but not as a copilot.Haji with a Handgun wrote:If its possible, maybe give it a mounted M16 or standard rifle of that faction to simulate shooting out of the window.

They removed that so people couldn't fire HATs from the logi.

What about if you could fire your weapon through the window while on the second seat?
Oh, nvm, I just saw the comment above...

I would prefer a SAW, placed on an MTVR. BTW, was the MTVR's W.I.P. canceled?

he does have a point, iv seen the British logistics carries armed with 50cal's before,
And they have a hatch on top, which i think is designed for just that.

I didn't mean being able to fire YOUR weapon, I mean mount a standard rifle on it. So you can only use the mounted G3,M16,AK47, etc. That is your forces standard issue rifle. No AA or HATs from the logi.chrisweb89 wrote:They removed that so people couldn't fire HATs from the logi.
Kinda like the RPK on the insurgents techie.

The 'no gunner without a driver' rule should be enforced on it. So one player couldn't just walk up and jump in your turret. Or drive away with your truck while you're in the turret after your SL jumps out. Maybe even bring back the officer/specialist(originally engineer when it was spawnable) requirement for driving them.
or just leave them alone. and use teamwork.

(CF) the trucks i saw while i was doing my course, the HLVW i think they were all had pintle mounts for MGs on top. the smaller MLs did not. These are the actual logistics trucks whereas PR uses the MLs which i dont think should be able to carry a bridge or two crates anyways.
Although i think it would be a good addition and would make perfect sense, it can wait until they decide to throw in the larger trucks or not.

I think its needed, but check the real life. Not all logi have LMG. But if the DEV's think its needed. I say yes. It will be great if you can fight back and at least defend the truck. The troops carrying truck needs this thing to.

Maybe two extra places in the back of the truck would be cool. You see it in alot movies and documentaries where supplies,etc.. are being transported by trucks and like guys sitting in the back of it. =)

Re: Logistical Truck 2ND seat Mounted S.A.W/Mg
how about a mounted tow on the logi and a HGM facing back

sry couldnt resist it. logi isnt ment to be armed. it is what its called = logistics aka your role is not to fight, but to support your troops. and their role is to protect you

They can still fire it from a lot of vehicles, including choppers. I say bring back the ability to shoot out the window for the passenger seat. If idiots wish to use it as a mobile H-AT platform, they can already do it with a bunch of other assets.chrisweb89 wrote:They removed that so people couldn't fire HATs from the logi.
So either remove shooting HAT (or any other weapon) from the seat for all vehicles, or none of them.

Yeah they have bridges, crates and repair stations why not make them carry weapons aswell... No really just no.. And if they need self defence get another squad or people from your own squad to defend it with a humvee/stryker/lav/bradley/tank/littlebird/apache.. And if u put a gun on it people will certainly start using it as a weapons platform and (solo it) get shot out of it and another truck is left to rot in the field. This shouldnt happen..

Would be realistic but logi trucks should never move through hot zones unescorted anyway so i cant see what it would do for gameplay.
