I know it's been said that the animation for a first person lowered weapon stance was not possible or would be too buggy, or something along those lines. I was watching this video though, and noticed the SAW is lowered a bit while walking. I like this feature, and I was wondering if this could be implemented into every gun's animation. This is more of a question more than anything, but if it's feasible then consider this a suggestion.

Re: First Person Lowered Weapon Stance question
yes it wasnt done because it was waay to buggy, just look at the 3rd person model when someones shooting, now imagine that in 1st person it would be ridiculous, and putting a timer on it is apparently really hard to do in the BF2 engine.
There is only one unforgivable lie That is the lie that says, This is the end, you are the conqueror, you have achieved it and now all that remains is to build walls higher and shelter behind them. Now, the lie says, the world is safe.? The Great Khan.

He doesnt mean a lowered weapon stance when idle, he means when you walk in the first person view the SAW looks lowerd, hes wondering why this isnt on other weapons. And i agree it should bekarambaitos wrote:yes it wasnt done because it was waay to buggy, just look at the 3rd person model when someones shooting, now imagine that in 1st person it would be ridiculous, and putting a timer on it is apparently really hard to do in the BF2 engine.

Re: First Person Lowered Weapon Stance question
I understand what you're saying... but the point I'm making is that it's already in the game in the form of this SAW. I haven't heard anyone complain about it... and I don't think it looks that bad. I'm wondering if this is either going to be taken out of the game, or if this feature is in to show the weapons weight... etc. etc. I mean if it's on the SAW, why isn't it on other guns.karambaitos wrote:ok imagine how stupid it would be when shooting with burst or single shot every time the bullet exits the gun would go down, yes i do mean walking and shooting

That animation you have in the video is the SAW's deployed walking animation. It's like that for all LMGs.

In this case it would be the sheer amount of work to see this change through. If you notice, deployed weapons have the 1p avatar lower the weapon's muzzle while moving.

That...is a very good point. Just goes to show that any random person with a different viewpoint or dissenting opinion can contribute, an contribute very well.
