I have got a question about version numbers like 0.92, 0.95,...: what do they stand for? Is it the number of addition of contents? like from 0.92 to 0.95, there are 3 new things.

How do you decide that?
The best victory is when the opponent surrenders of its own accord before there are any actual hostilities... It is best to win without fighting.

It's just a number based on how many test builds we go through until we reach a final release candidate.

Not quite.

Version numbers indicate major and minor revisions.

We use 0.XYZ, currently, where:

X is the major subversion. These are released more or less yearly, and tend to be large jumps. They tend to include lots of new content (new factions, for example), new maps, new gameplay, new interface updates and similar.

Y is a minor subversion. These tend to be 0.x5 updates, on the whole. These are smaller but still substantial updates that will include some new content (but not as much as a new faction, usually), a few new maps, and relatively minor gameplay tweaks. They will tend to be a more 'refined' update than 0.x releases, as we take the 0.x release and improve it.

Z is the build identifier, and is what Silly is talking about. Each time the mod is built from the collected assets, a new Z is assigned. This occurs after each test list of bugs has been completed, and any identified bugs have been corrected.

In releasing v0.95, for example, the first version tested will be 0.951. It's tested, tweaked, and 0.952 is built. That is tested, tweaked, and 0.953 is built... and so it goes on until we reach a stable version that we're happy to release, at which point the final version number is reached - for example, 0.914, 0.856 etc.

In theory, we could perpetually build between each new Y version - working our way up to release. Instead we tend only to start a new release build as and when we're good and ready to call something 0.x5 or 0.x.

That explains everything on this one ! Thank you.

Moar animations?

1337!

Oh yeah! Motion Blur! New m16s and m4s!
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D
