how? it is the same engine like bf2142 ...Tim270 wrote:]In bf2 it is possible, but much much more glitchy.K4on;1389402 wrote:why not a moveable ship instead of a train?
i know there is a "pirate influenced map" with a big ship model. that could be used, hm?
also it is possible to stay alive in moving objects, like BF2142 shows it with its titan-mode.
Movable train and objective.

i believe BF2142 is a slightly diffrent engine because they do have different mods i think in BF2142 you can animate more character parts then in BF2 i have to check that though

I don't know an army that would make use of a train for a 4km stretch of land.
But if we can get a genuine, bonafide, 6-car monorail, I'm in.

As far as I know, the BF2 engine does NOT support trailers. So having a train is a no. BUT, if you had all the different cars follow the front most part of the train, then having each cart carry x amount of people (Can't have more than 8 in a car) then it could possibly work. I'm not saying it will, but its something worth looking into to see if its possible. Too bad that this isn't that high of a priority.

Re: Movable train and objective.
What if the PR team just moved PR from BF2 over to BF2142 to take advantage of the improved engine? I've seen some vids about PR tests that were done on the 2142 engine.
And why can't you walk around inside vehicles without flying all over (and getting tked)? I have seen vids of previous PR versions where they could actually walk around inside aircraft while they are flying without any trouble.

Convert all of PR and make all players buy a new game... for trains?whatshisname55 wrote:What if the PR team just moved PR from BF2 over to BF2142 to take advantage of the improved engine? I've seen some vids about PR tests that were done on the 2142 engine.

Did I say it was just for trains?
Read carefully, I said "to take advantage of the improved engine" which includes other nice features that aren't in BF2

Trains seem to be a popular mode of transport in the part of the world where some of the simulated conflicts could occur.

I don't have a clue why any modern army would risk sending troops in to capture...a train. All cargo for military nowadays is transported either by logistics convoy, cargo ship, or military cargo plane.

Plus the purchase of a new game for all the current PR players that don't own BF2142. The PR Dev's already have enough on their plate. They don't need anymore big projects.

IRL would someone need to "capture" a moving train? I"m sure it would be easier to simply disable the engine ^_^

Locked. Move along gents, nothing to see here. If someone has a productive thing to say to move the discussion forward PM me with your post and I will consider re-opening it.
