Post by sovietpolarbear »

Lately I have been trying to fly with a joystick but it has been very hard for me. I can't fly right with that thing but I really want to learn how. any tips for a flying bear? oh and my joystick is a "Extreme 3D pro"

Well first off, ignore the joysticks settings such as the calibration. If you adjust the settings, (which I hope you do) adjust the in game settings from the PR controls menu.

It takes some experimenting with them but you'll find the right ones, plus you can adjust them while in game.

What do you need to know exactly? the extreme 3d pro is a GREAT joystick. Ive used one for about 3 years and was able to pull off incredible feats of flying.

Practice on coop.

Practice practice practice.

Just test yourself in doing crazy things, thats the best way to know your limitations. Fly under bridges, go inside the bunkers on kashan, fly really low to the ground, do fast insert extract, etc. That type of thing will teach you really fast by urself.

Easy on the stick. Mine is a piece of junk that is has a huge dead spot in the center, but suddenly gets hyper sensitive as soon as I leave it. The stiff springs are no help.

There's a Bf2 engine glitch where the chopper will shoot backwards on landing surfaces with joysticks. Possibly when you push forward and to the side while using negative thrust (the down key or throttle all the way down(?)).
