Re: to near limited range of vision
what do you have the view distance set to in game??
Harrod200:"Fire.exe has committed an illegal operation and has been shut down"
Raniak : "Warning: May crash if fired upon."
M4sherman: "like peter pan but with tanks"
[R-MOD]Eddiereyes909 (on sim tower) "It truly was the game of my childhood and has led to me getting my degree in industrial engineering."

As you can see on the two links, on 100% in the options, where you can choose between 50 to 100%.
I can see until 700m distance, 800m not anymore.

He means does it happen on a few maps or all maps?

It occurs on each map with a long range of vision, so on Kashan Desert, and Qinling and others where you can look on a far distance.

Re: to near limited range of vision
Your running @1680x1050 so try turning off/down AA
Could be your video card needs more ram (1gig)
Or set CPU affinity to 2. This will let one core deal with running XP and the other can deal with the game. ( sounds like your 1.8 CPU might be bottlenecking your video card trying to do both)
If you still have trouble try running battlefield cleaner to flush out your video cache files
Still no joy?
Trash your BF2 cache files
Path:
C:\Users\'your user name here'\Documents\Battlefield 2\mods\bf2\cache
Throw EVERYTHING inside the folder named cache away.
don't worry the files will be replaced with new ones when the game restarts.
Good luck

Re: to near limited range of vision
You know BF2/PR isn't a multi-threaded app. and your CPU is running @1.86MZ which is at the LOW end for system specks. So dropping some settings ( like textures and/or light maps) in till you find the 'sweet spot' your PCs hardware can handle would be my suggestion.
Good luck

Your screenshot definitely looks like it is set to 75% VD because your view runs out before the fog starts, which is a big indication that the view distance is too low. If you don't have many custom controls and stuff set up, can I suggest purging your \My Documents\Battlefield 2\ folder (ie Delete that folder) and then start up regular BF2, retrieve your account, set up your video settings & save, quit out and start PR. Try again to load into Qinling, and see if the symptoms persist.
I might also suggest you try playing BF2 to see if it has the same view distance issue.
I would also like to inject a

Problem solved so far, switched AA off
and everything allright.
Maybe I'll try with AA 2x or 4x, I don't know yet.

Re: to near limited range of vision
Hm, seems to have that problem when I use TS and Mumble together with PR, then too less RAM avilible for PR... that's it finally, I think.
