General tech advice

Post by Sten-Battle »

Hello All

I've just come back to PR after about a year and I've forgotten some of the tweaks to make the game run better. I seem to remember there was a screen res that was best to use to avoid crashing? My machine has the following spec:

Intel core duo 2.83 GHz
Vista 32 bit
2 Gb ram
Nvidia Geforce 8800 Gt

At the moment the game sometimes runs fine, sometimes needs to be restarted because of failure for punkbuster to handshake and sometimes suffers from very bad lag.

All tips and advice much appreciated.

Thanks

Something that I heard is that turning anti-aliasing all the way up helps with lag. It doesnt make sence, but it worked a little bit for me and a buddy.

I would recommend not running the game on high Textures if you are getting lag, this seems to be the biggest performance booster for the price IMO
