AR overheat?

Post by BOBA_fat »

it seems that over heating an AR is a very rare condition in PR,even if you fire it in full-auto instead of short burst,it still works fine after a couple of hundred rounds

then I found this video on youtube,it doesn't seem the way how we shoot in PR work in RL lol
YouTube - M249 Round Cookoff, 2 Melted Gun barrels

I'm curious about how LMG works in RL,is there some kind of mechanism to stop it from shooting when it's overheated? or the only condition you can't shoot it's because the weapon is fried?

I'm thinking adding "cook-off" effect in game,ARs can never be fired after overheated because of the melted barrels ,but that will probably push the game too far...really..

At the time it overheats, you will run out of ammo.

I've managed to overheat my SAW once. It was a pretty intense battle in Muttrah docks.

I'm pretty sure I've fired a whole clip non-stop without overheating the SAW...

lol xD ok

but the vehicle mounted LMGs get overheated a lot easier ,I remember the M249 on Canadian jeep get overheated in less than 1 mag if you fire it full-auto.

Overheating values were revised and standardized for 0.95.

read the end of the video, they expended 600 rounds within five minutes, that is more than enough to cook a gun.

Just use double tap and slight of hand and you'll get it overheated in no time!
