Well, lets say that PR and its development was going to be funded by some major company or venture capitalist, would you, the DEV's, consider making PR an inter-platform multiplayer game?(19) Will PR2 be released on consoles? - If we shout "YES!" people will say "omg, they screwed PR for consoles"... if we say "Never!", we'd be lying. The reality is that if a publisher came to us and said "We'll fund you to port the PC version of PR2 to 360 and/or PS3", we'd consider it - simply because the financial implications are hard to ignore when you're attempting to develop a game on a shoestring. The C4 engine works on PS3 today and will, by the end of 2010, work on xBox360. Basically we're going to try and avoid any decisions that would make a console "port" be unnecessarily difficult. That said; the tactical gamer on the PC platform is our primary audience, and that is who we will always bear in mind during the development process.
By this I mean, can we have a server where XBOX PS3 and PC's alike can play on the same server? A new type of MMO if you will.
I don't care about, what is currently possible, but PR2 is a future endevour, so place your mind in the future. This would make a ****-load of cash.
I claim this Idea as Intellectual Property...my price... free PR2 and my name in the end of the credits under:
"Guy you should thank for Inter-Platform Multiplayer"
