Re: Insurgency Idea
Whenever im in an inf squad, we always have all members follow a do not fire unless fired upon rule anyways. All it does is give you away and get the whole squad killed anyways.

Imagine this scenario of a blufor squad...
SL: Search these houses for the cache, but Ramirez you stay back and keep an eye on those Civis and if they pull out a gun take them out using your binoculars.

I believe that we should leave this for BF2PR and apply it to ARMA2PR, because of the large number of civis and all that. I know now what you are trying to say, but I don't see it too feasible.

Re: Insurgency Idea
Also, I agree with Rissen, in INS, especially Ramiel, if the US squad is alone and trying to survive more than 50m from the trans Humvee, they should try to hold their fire if they want to advance, otherwise they will just end up stalled at one location, with hordes of INS descending on them from the city. For example, me on INS, NoobCore server, yesterday night, I chased a full squad with my trusty little AK74U, until I called in the rest of my squad which pulled up in front of them and allowed us to kill that squad. I guess that the no fire unless fired upon should be a little more limited in your squads H guys. In ARMA2, because of unlimited civis and that, it is more possible to have that rule. But it should be limited to small weapons, like a pistol or a Uzi/Scorpion. I mean, you can't really hide a PKM/AK/PRK under your jacket without being ultra obvious from 100m.

Re: Insurgency Idea
the only way i see this idea working is if you cant shoot them unless they put their gun up or fire it. That's realistic but it would be heavily exploited and game play is still over realism so yeah

No,I mean that on ARMA2, there is a little mod online in which one of the features is to hide your pistol, so the cops won't arest you and all that. So its not hardcoded, it just needs to be adapted to weapons a little bigger, and that's all.

Re: Insurgency Idea
It could be implemented in BF2 PR, but the feature would not really help gameplay too much, except in the case of enemy snipers and marksmen, which I don't see enough potent ones, at least on NoobCore and TG.

I got an idea. If an insurgent has a gun, open fire, unless they have the unarmed equipped.
