Hoping for a quick response to a basic issue.
I plug in my USB headset and fiddle with the settings a little.
I can now speak through the mic.
BUT I cannot hear voice through my earpiece. Only through the speakers, which makes things very difficult.
I run Windows 7, what do?

How old is your headset? I had one a few years ago that was about 2 years old and I was having this exact same problem. Usually its because you're wiring inside the headset is old and starts to **** out on you.

Re: Headset problems
Very old. In fact it's a PS2 headset for that game SOCOM2 (back in the days
), but I've heard numerous stories of them working for online gaming...
Ideally I'd like all sound to come from my speakers in game, BUT the chat to come from my earpiece.

Re: Headset problems
Can I change this thread into:
Suggestions for a good headset to buy that will work. What do you guys use? What should I avoid, that kind of thing...
I want sound from my speakers, but voice from my headphones and obviously a mic for communication.
Thanks
