infa-red signatures from vehicles

Post by Logue »

this would be quite good if you did pitch black night battles, also for any heat seaking weapons

BF2 has confirmed no night maps, we would of course like to change this. No promises at the moment, but it's a given that we'll try our best.

Not that I am aware of. This is the reason for our uncertainty around being able to deliver this option in PR. If it's possible, we will.

if you can OMG that would be awsome. seeing fights like star wars of tracer fire and then a AAA fire to the sky woot!

AAA would be useless cause flying might be tricky lol you be more likely to crash than get shot down unless the pilots had NV even then itd be dicey

The cockpit HUD should prevent that from happening, night missions would be fun... anyone notice dynamic lighting in any of the videos? That might provide some clue as to what you'll have to play with.

The engine has dynamic lighting this time around, so I wouldnt imagine nightvision being too hard. And also, if the engine generates shadows based on a light source similar to Doom 3, couldn't you just put the lightsource underground, and make it cast a shadow over the entire terrain? Just a random thought that went through my head reguarding that

If night vision and FLIRs are implemented, will you guys put those IR strobes in to mark targets instead of smoke nades in the night maps? Not a major concern, but a nice touch to make the night fighting a little more unique.

not true pilots use rader, infared, nightvision to fly so you would see where your going.
