Squad Leader building...

Hey, just an idea here. As in the normal BF2 :P R a squad can make a FOB, MG nests, sandbag cover, etc. I was wondering if the viet cong could be able to make traps? Say, maybe something like a pit fall that is covered by leaves, or a tree fall trap with a trip wire that triggers a tree trunk or something, to fall from a tree and crush the unlucky G.I.

I think this would be a good idea and add to the realisticness of the game. My grandfather, a proud veteran, was a radio operator and he and his squad went onto a patrol. Along this patrol one of his friends triggered a trap that nearly killed him. Here are some pictures of these, and they were used at large by the Viet Cong.

Thanks and try not to troll to much. I hate being screamed at by an overly enthusiastic person who seems they think they are always right, not like there are alot of people like that here :D

I know you could not make a "trap door" like thing because you can not change the terrain of the map from ingame.

im not sure about something moving like a tree limb falling, but i don't think the engine can handle that either, sorry. Not 100% sure though on this second one.

if it is possible though, it would alsoo need to have some miniture explosions in it to kill who it hits.

Well, I wasnt talking about a trap door, those are just some drawings from google that I found. Im talking more like some leaves onto of it that would disguise the fact that there is a pit fall. And you wouldnt necessarily need a trap door if you made it deep enough. The only way to get out might be from grapple/rope but I dont know if that will be issued with a kit. Or even if it was used.

Are random pits possible?
Theoretically. If you use the AAS/Cache Template as a starter I see no reason why not. However, if they are pits they would be static, and this would look different to surrounding terrain.

I remember the Punji stick of BF:V... like a grenade trap without the explosive effect. Personally that'd be enough for me. Having them 'built' might be interesting but why not just place them.

I just wanted to know if this is a good enough idea lol, my first suggestion I believe, anyhow any type of trap that would be put in the game Im looking forward too. It just adds more fun to the game itself.

Perhaps just a bunch of leaves and when someone steps on it it turns into some wooden sticks (just 2D, nothing pretty) and everytime someone steps on it, he gets hurt?
Guys, when a new player comes, just answer his question and go on your merry way, instead of going berserk! It's THAT simple! :D
