Do I need BF2 Special Forces to play BF2 PR?

Hi, I'm thinking of reinstalling BF2 in order to get back into play PR (after 3 years). Do I need to install BF2 Special Forces as well in order to be able to make PR work? It's been a really looong while since I touched BF2 and ARMA 2 PR is taking too long.

you dont need SF to play PR, but you do need to patch BF2 to 1.41, and then to 1.5

Hmm, on fileplanet it says 1.5 should update all previous versions of BF2. What's the reason for patching to 1.41 first?

BF2 v1.5 is an incremental patch only from BF2 v1.41. Fileplanet is wrong.
