Initally I tried one of the versions when it still had a modified version of strike at karkand (don't know the version number), I tried to play it as a rambo vanilla player and I died too much and didn't like it. About a year and a half ago some of my clan mates for another game were talking about how good PR is, so I gave it another go now that it had been developed a lot more saw some amazing teamwork, and thought damn this is the best teamwork in any game I have ever seen, at that point I knew I was going to be addicted.

I had been playing BF2142 for the longest time, but after getting tired of the constant rifle-rocket spam, I went to try BF2. I had found that Tactical gamer was one of the best servers out there, so naturally, when I started playing BF2, I searched for a Tactical gamer server. I noticed right away that the only TG BF2 server that ever had people on it was one labeled PR, so I went to see what this server was running. Haven't gone back to vanilla ever since.

You should try it out online, alot of Canadians play and there is even a CF faction ^_^

Well finally got it working. For some reason I just redownloaded the PR files and they worked as opposed to my first attempt.

Eventually I'll play online/multiplayer. I never really played multiplayer since the Heretic/Doom days in university. Some Duke Nukem as well - but about 4 months ago I thought I would give it a shot using Soldier Front which is technically free.

Eh - K-jumping isn't my thing. Not a sniper and I am not very spastic on the keyboard.

Bought BF 2 a week ago and single player was quite fun with a 64 bot mod. Took about that long to get PR91 working (as I said I just re-downloaded and ran it no problems).

So now playing - Coop single player - and it is quite fun... I don't know how realistic it is since I have not fired a weapon since I was 6 and never been in combat of any sort - unless you include ramming a french mine sweeper while on a sailboat.

But I enjoy it so far and it looks like I won't have to worry about super-jumping-leaping-snipers.
I will say I find it fairly difficult - but fun nonetheless.

Try MP, it's totally different than SP, in a good way. This game isn't about reactions, really.

Watch this for example.

My friend told me to get bf2 and dowload project reality. I was like: Lulz? it cant be thath good. He just kept talking about it and eventeally i ended up bying bf2. First I had some problems installing mod(was version 0.75 or something?)so I tried vanilla I was like: this is so cool, who cares if I cant get pr working. Then when I finally got project reality working I just loved it. I had been looking for realistic multiplayer fps game for long time.

I heard about PR from a colleague at my work place when we were talking about lack of reality in vBF2. He told me about this mod, and after I got it installed I never look back. I think it was .5 release. Funny enough he never got into PR :)

First Trailer that was released. Wasn't to impressed, I usually dont get impressed by mods that doesn't use their own weapon models. Didn't care much, a year went by, and then I finally tried it and it was awsome. First time I tried it was when the british got their new models, cant recall what version that was. I then stopped playing for a year, again, then started to play again not long time ago, maybe 2 years ago. i remember the british vs. MEC map where you begin airdropping down and MEC had jets in the hangars, it was highly popular that map.

Believe it or not I saw Project Reality on the BF 2 website in '07 or '08 then I had 10Lives as a name. Now i have to go with my first bf 2 account because my 10Lives got banned for "Hacking."

I was tired from all the non-serius players and the boring gameplay in vBF2, so I started googling for some mods for BF2 and ran across PR.

Loved it ever since (started with 0.9 so not that long ago)

Found out from a friend after seeing them playing. I'd seen it at the MOTY, but didn't try it out at the time

Was playing Vanilla for the first time after buying the game for 10$. There was a cool guy in the server who heard me wine about the poor players and the shitty game play. Suggested me to try PR.

Rest is history. I think I played like 1 hour of vanilla before switching to PR. lol

I think my first download was PR .6

I used to play Desert Combat, DCX and EOD ALOT back in bf42. And before that it was Half-Life, Day of Defeat :D Could never get enought of hearing the counter strike players cry because of a one shot kill. lol

I remember playing the BF2 demo when it came out. As you would expect I was one of the first ******** to realize you could stick 5 pads of C4 on the 70s transport vehicles, run it between the humvees and the tank, get out and boom. lmao, once I took out both full humvees and the tank 30 seconds after game start. The crying was priceless.

P.S: Man, soooo many memories from Desert Combat. Its actually the father of BF2. They totally ruined it by merging it with some HALO gameplay but its a chance PR came :) Anybody remember the AC130 or the Apaches? The EPIC m82 sniping from mountains into nme bases after a high altitude para drop, opening chute only seconds before hitting the ground to avoid detection? maaaan, so many good times lol. Popin the plane whjores waiting for a spawn at 2km, priceless :P

I can still hear the sounds of a TOW exiting the hummvee before a few kilometer of traveling thru the desert of el alamein before hitting the target. And then the little Pop! in the distance. lol.

I recall learning about PR back in the day when I was a dedicated Source Engine fan. I frequently watched videos online of Insurgency, and a man from Yorkshire with a crude sense of humour posted a video on his experiences of the early PR stages (probably 0.5 or something, back when it still used the vBF2 AK-47 anyhow).

I decided to look into it, and after watching a few videos of PR 0.85, I got into watching the videos (from reedible I believe; god I loved that MEC HK 21E). I had to take a while to learn that it was provided by the BF2 engine. I decided to get BF2, and was taken away by its amount of fun compared to the source engine, and I played it for a few months.

Finally, I remembered PR. Just in time really, for it was just about to release 0.9. But of course, me being the idiot I am, I had tons of problems installing the game, so I was about 5 days behind the release. When I did get to play it, though, I was amazed, and since February 13th, 2010, I have been an active forum member and a mediocre PR player (owing to my laptop). I've even gotten my best friend into it a lot. He enjoys flying helicopters more, but I'm an infantry guy :) .
