Yeah, but there is difference between floating 3D marker showing >exact< location and >exact< distance from over 1000 meters which can be spamed and showing names of adjacent friendly troops, don't you think?

Answer is to practice with the LG missiles on the fighter bombers in vBF2 so you can learn how to keep a steady hand and guide it straight into the enemy.

Yes, but the speeds at which you have to try and deal with in those are just absolutely insane, with it being near-impossible to try and get accurate hits on something like armor from straight and level flight at full chop.

BVR is fine on maps where both teams have aircraft and have an equal chance at shooting eachother down.

BVR is fine, except for the TOW. Hopefull it will be modified to not have the huge splash damage it currently has.

BVR works very well with armor, the only downside is you can still be found whereas floating somewhere between 1200-1500 feet that chopper BVR-ing won't be spotted by anyone safe for other pilots.

It would be a lot better if BVR could work with Hellfires instead of cannon.

Agreed. This just seemed awfully easy considering the gunner ended with 30 odd kills from BVR and about 5 BTR's no deaths. BVR Hellfires would need much more teamwork and would be more challenging on maps like Muttrah due to the angle needed, plus the FAC would have to move the marker so the gunner can adjust the missile during flight considering it has a MUCH longer travel time compared to the cannon rounds.

The Cobra on average was at 800m above the carrier, perfectly still. Excuse the quality.

Well, if it's LT BVR and LG BVR, it could end up that anything that stays still is a dead man if the FACs spot em.

I don't mind having this in game but I think something should be done to make it a little less efective for gameplay purposes, since this tactic is getting very popular. Like implementing bullet drop for the cannon, less max range, or atleast a small deviation so you don't have the precision of a sniper from 2000m+ dist. And of course its extremelly anoying being shot by this and have no effects to tell what it was.

Updates will be made as to the several changes to air asset effectiveness soon enough. Going to lock this now though...because all that's going on is idle speculation.
