Placing an attack marker in the heat of the battle

Post by Mouthpiece »

This is more of a suggestion, but it can go as feedback also. I'll grow old while waiting for 25 posts so I could post in the right category. Sorry for that 8-)

Recently I started SL'ing. The number of guides/faq topics in these forums encouraged me
to control things rather than beeing in control and to contribute as artist in the music of an online battlefield. And it's been a great time, mostly thanks to those who contributed their experience to these forums.

But there's one thing that I find quite annoying. The attack marker. Usually I use it while in direct combat situation - to point out a target so my teammates could vapourize him good.
One third of combat situations are close combat where every second counts. And the outcome mostly is dependant on who shoots first. So it's really a huge dilemma: should I notify my teammates first and shoot than (risking my life) or should I shoot first and mark target later (if my efforts to kill have failed)?

Now the suggestion part. Maybe the attack marker could be placed by pressing a random button on keyboard rather than using MB1?

P.S.

Thanks for the awesome game.

Locked as this is a suggestion outside of the correct forum. Believe it or not there is a reason for the post count limit ;)

This isn't going to happen either way as using the mouse and in-game commo rose to place markers allows for huge variety in markers that you place, you'll see what I mean if you fire up the SL radio and try placing map markers for other squads.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "
