I told smeggles while back i didnt have suggestions, but playing today in operation archer i found about 2.
Track ir is just like armas 2 free aim, just that you dont see your legs etc, unless devs
make legs and stuff, but is there anyway possible for this to be implemented, its a great function, plus it would replace peeking round cornes since you now can turn your view.
and the automatic sniper, this has been said millions of times, but just decrease the SAW or anyother automatic rifleman kit's accuracy in long distances, i played operation archer, as an sniper, i get my self into the castle and start shooting, i take down bout 6 or 10 enemies, while the guy besides me has the auto rifleman and he takes down 20 or 15 enemies......
just this 2, see if its possible.....will improve realism, and make the game more fun.

We may be able to use the pr.exe to force TrackIR support on BF2 but how doable it is we are not sure yet.

In real life LMGs are pretty damn accurate. In game they're not as accurate as snipers, but it is compensated by the quantity of rounds that can be fired in the same time frame. The downside to having a SAW is that you expose yourself more - You have to track targets and generally won't hit them with the first shot as range - And that you've got tracers showing exactly where you are.kuratomi1950 wrote:just this 2, see if its possible.....will improve realism, and make the game more fun.

Note that sniper rifles are not designed to take out many people in a short amount of time. While he could shoot more people, he also was easier to spot. You can kill a guy with the first shot, and they won't know where it came from. He's spraying tracers all over the place and will most likely miss with the first few rounds, giving them time to seek cover.

Aquatic and Spec are spot on.
You have to remember that a Sniper should really be a very rare option to put in an infantry squad, in fact it is best to have mumble and get a sniper/spotter squad up with the infantry squad. So they aren't seen and are doing what the sniper is meant for. Spec Ops.
The SAW (SQUAD automated weapon) is quite clearly for a squads support. Usually for when the squad has ALREADY been spotted and usually isn't even aiming to get kills, just suppression. The teams guardian.

If you think that the objective of PR is getting "who gets the most kills" then you are doing it wrong.
And if it bothers you so much that he with an AR kit gets more kills than you with your l33t snipz0r just take the AR kit next time, problem solved.

Lets say the M4/M16/G3/AK74 and all the other regular rifleman kits don't have lots of recoil and extremely low per-shot deviation. Your argument can't just be "take a limited kit".
The point of Sniper Kits are to provide long range fire support, and occasionally lase targets for CAS. We're talking ranges of 400-900m. SAW can do even better then a sniper rifle, Which isn't true in real life. They can suppress effectively, since it doesn't have enough accuracy to engage like a sniper rifle. However, in PR, this is not true.

Re: Track ir and atuomatic sniper.
Wrong, A saw can be just as accurate as a sniper. Depending on who is using it. Their roles in RL are VERY different. Also the role you stated in the quote above is wrong. Snipers are not ment to provide long range fire support... they are recon specialists. Nothing more nothing less. They are ment to engage high priorty targets only for the fact that they are very ineffective against multiple enemies. Counter sniper tactics are very effective in RL and snipers ussualy make one or two shots then bug out immiediatley.Dev1200 wrote:The point of Sniper Kits are to provide long range fire support, and occasionally lase targets for CAS. This is obviously reflected in PR. The devs have worked hard to make the sniper kit not a 1337 snipZ0r kit lul.
Personaly when Im a sniper, the only thing I do in PR is recon and lase for Jets or Attack helos... thats really all I ever do. For the fact that when ever I do make shots at infantry I ussualy get a storm of automatic rifleman fire right back at me...
Have you ever heard the term in war "It's the quantity of bullets that kill"

I'm sure Smeg will thank you for proving him very very right.kuratomi1950 wrote:I told smeggles while back i didnt have suggestions, but playing today in operation archer i found about 2.
Before you post any suggestion you need to search the forums and check the Already Suggested Suggestions thread to see whether it has been discussed before. Both of these things have been discussed in great detail before, Track IR has been worked on but not a lot of progress made whilst the discussion surrounding the SAW kit has been going on for more than a year and half so isn't worth going into here.
Read through the links Elektro posted for more info.
