That's all I was asking when I started my thread but Jigsaw locked it before anyone could post a helpful reply such as yours.[R-DEV]crazy11 wrote:The PR wiki is being worked on just so you guys know...

Because that has always been the case, nothing has changed in that respect.superhunty wrote:Why did you not just say this in the first place then!?
We're not implying that at all, it is simple fact that with less control and more people working on something the chances of errors occuring increase exponentially.Wicca wrote:right boys, no reason to say that pr is slow and that the community doesnt know ****.

"I love the smell of napalm in the morning. You know, one time we had a hill bombed, for 12 hours. When it was all over, I walked up. We didn't find one of 'em, not one stinkin' dink body. The smell, you know that gasoline smell, the whole hill. Smelled like... victory. Someday this war's gonna end... "

Nobody in the DEV team knows exactly how everything works/current state of all things, let alone thousands of random players.Wicca wrote:That the community doesnt know ****
Which means there will be confusion and mistakes.
Just like in this thread

I for one already see a mistake in the very 1st post, where Czech forces is listed as work in progress community faction, which was actually scrapped.
System with a setup accounts and privileges, standardized interface and templates will work better for everybody.

Well the PR official staff imo is a bit understaffed, so I believe doing this should relieve some work for you guys.
That said, I'll work on the air assets.

Re: PR Wikia Project
Wikipedia is always been a project where alot of people has edited the same thing.
I can understand the Devs worry about having the community IE "thousands" of people editing the wikipedia.
As opposed to 1 or 2 devs.
Having 2 wikipedias on the same issue is just unecessary.
Thats like having 2 presidents of america. at the same time. Or smt.
So either you try to get help from eachother with stuff like finding pictures/maps/kit pictures.
And have the people who gather the info, and the people who place it in the wikipedia.
IE the people who place all info in the wikipedia are the devs. But helping eachother out, shouldnt be an issue here, we have the same goal, why are we even discussing this?

Re: PR Wikia Project
Thats the thing here, the pages that will be on this wiki are not matters of opinion but rather raw facts, EG the 30mm cannon on a BMP can effectively destroy a Bradley, and while some people might thing its more wise to use the TOW, the fact still remains that it can destroy.
Majority of the stuff thats important can be taken from the manual anyway.
I'd make editing public for the first few weeks or development NyteMire, before adding certain people to the team to proof-read everything on those pages.

This man has intelligence...EvilWaffles wrote:A more efficient system would be to harness the shear amount of people willing to work on this, and allow community members to submit pages to the DEV's in charge of this for review, and they would then add them to the project after being checked.

Took the words right out of my mouth. I'd be more than happy to volunteer to help. One thing I'd want to add is that tactics, and not just logistics should be added to the guide, so that players know how to effectively play the game.EvilWaffles wrote:A more efficient system would be to harness the shear amount of people willing to work on this, and allow community members to submit pages to the DEV's in charge of this for review, and they would then add them to the project after being checked.
