I've been away....

Post by bkandor »

for awhile, and now I want to play again. But everything has changed? I'm confused, should I be installing the bf :p r or the arma2 :p r.

Are both operational? One better than the other?

TIA

welcome back, PR ArmA2 has its own Dev team within the PR team and is working on some great stuff for you guys, PR BF2 is still going strong, and even when ArmA2PR is out I expect BF2 PR will still get some of the lovin :)

install BF2, 1.41 patch, 1.5 patch, then PR's full part 1 and 2.

BF2 PR will reach the peak of its epicness when I will be playing it max details, full view scale by the end of this year! lol

You guys are going to be stomped. Ive been playing PR at an avg of 15-30 fps.. 30 fps being on desert maps! Gets down to 10 or less on fallujah and such, and that was on 50% view scale! lol You dont even want to imagine how its gonna be when I hit 60+ FPS on full view scale on all maps! Ima be like a jihad road runna! lol

The new system will also support arma2 nicely, hopefully :D I think I got it tho, good cpu, fair amount of ram, good gfx card and a SSD just for arma2 PR release :D

Great!, thanks for the info. PR (with mumble) has provided the best gaming moments ever.

@JohnnyTheIED - lol, I play on a 120hz 24inch monitor with a 5970 / i5-750 / 8gb system. Frame rates are ummm pretty high. I don't know how you manage.

the cold hard reality is is that nobody really cares that you're back, to everyone you're just another forum member. it's also amazing how much a little searching can do for you to get the information you want. ;)

User has been infracted for flaming. If you've got nothing helpful to say, don't post - BloodBane

look up the definition of flaming, bloodbane.

User has received a second infraction for disrespect towards PR team. If you get an infraction that you disagree with, use PM - BloodBane

seriously? go fuck yourself, bloodbane.

Also, Excavus, he's been asking a couple of questions up there, not only said "hai there, I'm back".

Welcome back, bkandor.

The rig im planning has the phenomx4 and the am3 platform for lowering costs, but Ive read alot of great thing about the i5-750 lately! And its quite affordable as well.

The only thing thats keeping me from switching my plan to INTEL right away is the fact I could later on switch to the phenomx6 1090t with the same mobo. And OC that bad boy up to 4.1ghz!

But Im definitely looking into it as we speak. Apparentely i5-750 can be OCed up to i7 900s performances. But obviously the downside is that the socket for it is already history for intel.

Oh and PS: I manage with patience, lots of it. lol. But anyways my 6-7 yrs old rig died on me. Dead mobo. And nowhere to find is the AGP mobos. LOL..

Yea, I was really happy to read about the number of players supported by arma. cool!

@johnyThe IED

The phenomx6 is tempting I agree.

But I was going for a budget upgrade (apart fromt he 5970 lol). The i5 with mobo and 8gb of ram was just over 600$. I've had it oc'd to 3.8ghz on air (just replaced the hsf) since day one. My friend has his over 4.0 but mine is not quite stable there. Performance over my q6600 is great. Testing in BC2 with my setup @1920x1080 everything max'd I'm getting between 100 and 140 fps.

Good luck with you're new stuff.

Welcome back!
Yes, as everyone said, BF2 :P R is awesome and everyone is excited for ArmA 2: PR.
There is one more thing to say... Beside those two great games, there will also be BF2: vietnam... which is also going to be great!
So PR is all you need =P
