Ok, thank you. When is it possible to unlock the server? Should we wait for Stable release?[R-CON]Amok@ndy wrote:it is as long as you use a Password !

You might want to PM Dankicity to get permission but I see no problem with it personallywebking wrote:Hi Admins, IS IT ALLOWED TO SET WAKE ISLAND MAP ON OUR SERVER?
Amokandy: Sound file is in info. Path is set to that. Works in local, like I said, just not on a live server.

pack your sound file to /wake_atoll/common_client.zip/sounds
and change your sound path to /levels/wake_atoll/common/sounds

Was there something you didn't understand?Startrekern wrote:Uh.Rotta;1368351 wrote:Oh and just curious, did you thought about making 1:1 scale Wake into a 6km or 7km map (the island is 6km long)? It would still have less than half the land area of Yamalia, and to my knowlege, the engine could still run them.
Wut?
More about the Chinese carrier, ideally one would also serve as a Russian carrier in Beirut. Soviet Admiral Kuznetsov class aircraft carriers are such, with China having the already mentioned Varyag and Russians the Admiral Kuznetsov.
As a smaller task, Type 054A frigate looks somewhat simple desing, however they are at least desinged to hold only one chopper.

Yes. How is it possible to obtain maps larger than 4km in PR? You suggested that it be 6/7 kilometers..
As for modelling, really, the Kuznetsov would be a better choice because it could be reused for Russian maps that required an aircraft carrier. (See: Beirut)
Also, if anyone feels like playing this map, we'll have another event Thursday. Download link is in the Event News section.

Back in town and starting to look a little less like a lobster. An hour with no lotion in SoCal is a sure fire way to get 2nd degree burns and no tail during your time there.
Thanks for the work so far startreken. I'll be looking at some of the remaining issues this weekend and I'll be there at the Thursday event.

Re: [Map] Wake Island (4km) [WIP]
Going from the post about sound bugs. No jets on the map, meaning I should be able to get away with the current settings @ 900m, fog at 850m. Still higher than the 800m suggested for a map with helicopters.
Even though I like Wake Island, I like having a home more. So gotta put this guy on hold until I secure the home front from evil speculative economics controlled by a private 'federal' reserve who's pulling the world's strings...or just my own laziness.

*salute* Good luck with the fight!
Um. Anyway: Sound bug is not a problem -- I have only experienced it twice on this map and it was in one specific area both times for reasons unknown. Maybe a coincidence, maybe not, but it isn't that big of an issue.

Played it on UK event.
Awesome job and therefore awesome map. Needs maybe some flags/assets tweaks, but still great one. ;>
Looking forward to see it in PR.

Thanks, I think I've hammered myself out of my financial conundrum so I should be able to get the details filled in sometime soon. It might be around the same time Windows goes open-source but ... I'm still thinking about it.

If you ever decide you can't finish it let me know.
Another thing that needs to be fixed is the flag radius/orders, they need to be smaller especially on the north side. There tends to be a stalemate at barracks/dock, and there's no combat at all in the neighborhoods really. Two smaller flags in those areas would be good

Bro, feel free to make any changes that improve the map. Just post the progress from time to time.
I will get back to it but by the time I do it could already be a lot better.
