Will installing this on new computer make for better performance?

Post by jackcr »

I have just built a high end gaming computer and I would like to know if I would have smoother gameplay if I installed PR on it? I currently have PR on my old computer (spec below.) but I am unsure if I would see a difference on the new machine. When I say smooth, it's just some of the big city insurgent map lag for me and I am not sure if it's server side or if it's my rig. I will still be playing PR as I am using both computers, but I just need an answer. Thankyou!!

Old Pc
Cpu Amd64 dual core 3.1Ghz
3 gig ram
Geforce 260Gtx
Asus republic gaming board
windows vista 32bit

New Pc
Gigabyte board
Cpu i7 930 super overclocked 4.0 Ghz
6 gig ram
Geforce 460Gtx
windows 7 64bit

LOL, is this really such a difficult question, or are the tech guys on holiday or something? I'll put this another way... What specs do you need to run PR at it's optimal setting? Thanks!!

Honestly did you expect an answer in a few hours? people are busy.

If you can run BF2 you can run PR.
test it yourself.

When has 8 hours been a few hours? And what type of an answer is that? Well here is another question just for you. Did you even read the post? Or is a trip to spec savers calling?

The whole point of this section of the forum, and may I add it's called "SUPPORT" is to do just that. Maybe you don't have an answer for me, but instead of comming on here and given out silly answers like that, why don't you go and focus on something else instead? You are living proof that a lot of people are not busy at all, but are comming on here instead and wasting their time given out silly answers.

Your old sys is good to go. And it won't increase performance, if you don't had any issue with old system. If you are going to play Arma 2 PR version, you will need new sys for best performance and quality.

Dude.... not gonna fight... but in 8 hours people could be:

a)Sleeping
b) doing personal shit
c)many other reasons

I gave you an answer.... Test it yourself... not hard to do?
Actually since I live in Canada, I am at school when you are just waking up. When you are sleeping I am on the forums.

And I wouldn't be the one to talk about "silly answers"
Your silly question asked for it....
So walk away and think about what you have done.

Why is it a silly question? Some games only require a certain amount of hardware to run at full speed. I know for example if I install Pac Man on my new machine that I would be wasting my time because it runs just as good on any computer. That is why I asked the question and I don't see why it's silly. What would be the point in me moving all my controllers over to my other computer if there is no performance gain?

I think it is you who needs to walk away and think about what you write. You come on here and argue the toss when it would have been easier just to help.

PM you? I wouldn't waste any more of my time on you  Come to think of it why am I even wasting my time answering you now. You can Write what you want from now on because I won't be viewing this post anymore. I already had a response from a guy who was more then willing to help, so there's no need to read anymore of your drivel.

You can also forget the childish pm banter aswell, I'm really not into been that imature. Infact, if there is an admin about please can you lock this thread now because it's finished with.
