Kozelsk?

I would like to know why not many people like to play Kozelsk anymore. I was just playing on a full 64 player server and the map ended and it was switched to kozelsk. When i get ingame there is only 20 people on the server and a few leaving every minute until i eventually decided that the map is far to big to play with 5v5 and disconnected myself. This makes me quite sad as Kozelsk is a very good and one of my favorite maps but is hardly ever played and when it is played everyone disconnects :|

Just wondering what your opinion on this map is

Do you dislike it? if so why?

I too greatly enjoy Kozelsk.
It's great for ambush tactics, armoured+infantry cooperation, and has a combination of both short range and long range combat areas.

I love this map with a passion, and I'd hate to see it die.

I actually quit on Muttrah because I'm sick of seeing the top 5 servers running simultaneously Muttrah WTF!?!
Kozelsk, well the map itself is not that awesome and some unbalances force people to leave (IMO). But I never leave a server because of a map.

I love Kozelsk for many different reasons. But there could also be different things behind the reason of massed player drops, such as poor playlist orders (2 forest maps in a row (Fools, Eagle), multiple militia/russian maps, etc), or RL situations

maybe it has something to do with those strange crashes and bugs that some or even many of us experience these days.

just like some minutes ago on a server where a map was just finished, after loading the next map (muttrah) only 7 of 64 people remained, the rest had a CTD. happens quite often to me and many of my mates on several servers.

Kozelsk 64/Std has it problems that, as far as I know, will be fixed for the upcoming patch, but the current 32/Alt and 16/Inf layers are great. Kozelsk allows very intensive firefights to happen anywhere on the map, due to it's terrain that makes it possible to take cover even in relatively open area. The cap zones are also interesting, since they tend to vary a lot.

I don't think that Kozelsk would complitely empty a server, in fact, I don't believe that any map that is playable (i.e. doesn't lag or crash the server) would.

In the end, players keep the game running, not the maps.

Some of the best CQB fights ever were had holding the tunnel complex on Kozelsk.

Thanks for the feedback =) I think changes i made to kozelsk vehicle layouts should make it more popular. Current ingame setup is totaly fooked up, thanks to lack of transport for russia and militia's 3 tanks... but from my own experiences the inf layer seems to be working nicely, balanced, trucks are more powerfull than APCs and therefore russia is performing better in inf layer it seems.
Also very very slow Ticked bleed should stop rounds from lasting forever when russia cant capture even the first flag =)

Glad to hear it mate ;)

Hopefully people wont be as stubburn to this map as they have been in this version now because is a truly excellent map :lol:

I agree, lovely map but so much of the time Russians are stuck around the first flag.

Played it so rarely I haven't even seen the tunnels!
