Are the Stadiametric range finders on scopes that include them (SVD, New RPG, PF-89 etc.) accurate in the BF2 engine, and would it be possible to better explain how to use them. I understand the PSO scope pretty well, but the RPG-7 is a bit more vague. In a related manner will mill dots be to scale and accurate?

Re: Rangefinding
i know some are, however not sure on if all of them are
would be good to get someone to test say the M16/4 ACOG to see if the 400m actually hits at that range (given the bullet drops at 300m in game)

Re: Rangefinding
Stadiametric thing is not working at the moment, this is something what will be looked at future, but unfortunately its not functional now and we can't promise it will.
As for RPG sights
Green - number resembles the distance in hundreds of meters for PG-7VS projectile
Red - PG-7VR, TBG-7V projectiles
Blue - PG-7VL projectile
Orange - range meter, works same way as on PSO, but for 2.7m high target.
Top cross - used for sight zeroing and adjustment.

Re: Rangefinding
Danke for the info drop on the RPG Scope
, that seems different from the standard representation of the scope in most other video games. Is it a more recent model?
Sad to hear that It might not work in BF2, would be helpful so the squad leader doesn't have to set a target point to make an accurate shot, but perhaps something to think about for PR2!

Re: Rangefinding
It is the same in general, older scopes just dont have measuring for different projectiles, but the grid and range finder are the same.
Finding actual reticles is a very hard task, so usually its a random thing being slapped into it.different from the standard representation of the scope in most other video games
