Do I need Punkbuster?

I have just installed the game and it works great, but I am wondering if I need to install punkbuster? I ask because I have just played a full game of PR and it never once kicked me and told me to install Punkbuster. So, do I have to install it, or did it come with the install of the game already? Thanks!!

Yes you have to install it, and keep it updated.

I have installed it now. However, the punkbuster folder doesn't show in my programs. I updated it and all, but why doesn't a punkbuster folder show up in my programs?

Be sure to download PBSetup and add the BF2 folder, updating it regularly. If you encounter problems often, run it each time you boot.

Naaaw you dont need punk buster just try joining a server and play for the 10 seconds before you get kicked out . . . it makes it that much more fun ...

But for real JK . . . im not a **** ahha
just follow the instructions above mine ^_^
